They really were Wonderful Years!
I've wished I could own the whole Wonder Years TV series, but unlike so many other shows available on DVD, this one isn't currently for sale. But I did find this 2 episode Christmas special DVD of the Wonder Years and it is fantastic! It includes an early episode and a later one so you can see how much the characters have grown. This show is set during the same era I was a teen so it has extra special meaning. Take a step back in time as you relive those late 60's -early 70's when life really was simpler. I highly recommend this DVD as it will appeal to teens - baby boomers!

Lovely movie based on the American Girl doll Samantha
If you love history or wish to know what it was like to live in America in the early 1900's,then you will love this movie! This is a quality made film, from the sets to the costumes and the fine job of acting, which will leave you feeling as if you yourself had traveled back in time. Young girls will immediatly adore Samantha and the story even will appeal to adults making this a great movie for mother's to watch with their daughters who are approximately ages 6 and up. The character Samantha is a wonderful roll model for young girls as she is sweet and kind and because she follows her heart to try to make the world around her a better place even even while dealing with her own personal disappointments. I saw just part of this movie on t.v. and had to buy my own copy so I could see the complete movie. A perfect family film to watch around the holidays or just anytime! This film will leave you smiling with it's happy ending!

A Fun Lighthearted Comedy- you will love Jane Spring!
A modern successful career girl can't understand why she can't find love! While watching a Doris Day movie marathon during a blizzard she realized Doris has the key to getting her man. So Jane totaly revamps her lifestyle to that of Doris Day; from her clothing, to her home decor, make-up and hairstyle and even her speech. She changes not only the outer image, but the way she thinks and handles people. The reader sympathizes with Jane as she adapts to her new style and cheers her on as she trys out her new approach to winning the man of her dreams. This book is a comedy which allows the reader to see comparisons of today's women to those in the 1960's. The main character, Jane, is lucky to have a large trunk of her grandmother's classic 60's clothing to wear to make her transformation believable. She studies Doris Day's way of handling people and while confusing family and co-workers as to her motive, she finds they truely love the "new and improved Jane Spring". Clever quotes from Doris Day movies introduce each chapter, giving the reader a clue as to what might happen next. My sister loaned me this book and I liked it so much I had to buy my own copy, which I've read 3 times now! It's that funny and entertaining! One underlying message I got from this book is that if you aren't happy with your life, go make some changes! If you are a fan of the 60's and those classic Doris Day movies you will especially love this book! If you find dating in today's world a challenge you will easily identify with Jane Spring! I highly recommend this book for those times when you want to grab an enjoyable book for light reading and take a little escape from our world today.
