Bad design and faulty programming
I have used the previous model and found it to be OK, although it only lasted 4 years. This newer version is a failure. First it is extremely fiddly to program, second it does not have any illumination, so it is useless at night by the bedside (inc alarm) or on a boat and third it says on the box that it displays the date (day month) when it doesn't. Finally, I was unable to get it to set certain barometric functions, which was the main reason for buying it. I contacted the manufacturer for warranty and they wanted me to pay international freight there and back which cost more than buying a new unit - which I won't.
