TS-440S-AT Experience
I purchased my TS-440 from "Ham Stuff" in Geneva FL. It arrived well packed and safely, no shipping problems. I started building an antenna to use with it. I have a total of about thirty dollars invested in the antenna system which includes a new 50' RG-8X coax. The antenna is a three wire fan dipole oriented for a north-south radiation pattern.The antenna tuner in the radio matches the antenna perfectly on 40, 20, and 15 meters with an SWR of less than 1.4:1. So far I have made one contact in Hawaii (off the end of the antenna) and one in east central France. Lots of of other contacts, most of which have given me great signal reports. The radio has operated flawlessly so far and has exceeded my expectations for a radio this old. I would recommend "Ham Stuff" to anyone looking for great gear at a fair price. Thanks Paul!
