Pretty good Bond Adventure
The Secret of the Bond Success does not lie in its formulaic execution but in its diversity. The Bond Movies differ considerably from one another. No wonder one does not tire watching them. Not ever!!
(Well, of course there are "Quantum Of Solace" and "Skyfall" of which one tires real fast.)
OHMSS offers an entierely different look from all other Bonds. Hard, fast paced action masterfully directed by Peter Hunt. Interesting storyline (nothing too fancy, really. It´s all rather credible.) with teriffic ski action. These shots do not age. Despite the fact that it did poor at the box office in 1969 it´s all in all a very satisfying entry in the Bond Canon. By many considered the best of all.
Highly commendable.

Standard Thirties Serial Fare
Buck Rogers was the trendsetter in the 1930ies that got other comic serials started. Flash Gordon came shortly after Buck Rogers, but beat it to the Big Screen by two or three years. If you know the Flash Gordon Serial you know pretty much what awaits you in Buck Rogers. Anyhow it has a purely adventure type storyline which is no match for Flash Gordon, which contained fantasy elements and (at least in the comic strips) a strong sexual content.
The Specials are worth a look.
Watch Buck if you loved Flash but do not expect it to exceed Flash Gordon.

informative and entertaining
"i am spock" was the follow up to leonard nimoy´s "i am not spock". and this cotradiction between the first and logically titled "i am not spock" and "i am spock" (an alien from outer space!!) triggered the decision to buy the book.
actually it´s about leonard nimoy´s problems to deal with a (partly) self created second identity and of course with star trek. if you happen to love star trek you will find it an interesting book about fame, success, movie making and a seemingly pretty normal personal life.
perfect present for trekkers.
