Great little starter camera!!

Like a gas-guzzling SUV, this camera gobbles up batteries quickly. plan to buy a couple spares (I found some for $2.50 online). You're lucky to get 50 pictures out of a single charge, but if you turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder, the battery lasts longer. And in burst mode, it takes 8 pictures in about 5 second, which is really quick considering its release date was May 2000, over 10 years ago. The pictures themselves are good, and the flash does an excellent job if the lighting isn't adequate. The screen is small (1.5'") compared to current models, but the picture is sharp and bright nonetheless. 2x optical zoom works fine, but doesn't make a big difference, so if you need to get closer pictures, you're going to have to get closer. Other than those quibbles, great little starter camera!!
