Pricy, but will have more time before an upgrade is needed!!
This modem is excepted by all the major internet service providers, or to be even more precise, they are pushing these modems that are Docsis 3.0. They process information faster than the Docsis 2.0 and less, by approximately 4-6 times. This keeps their service running faster and you are using less bandwidth. I have looked over the lists of modems that are on there way out to the excepted and then the preferred. They are all the Docsis 3.0 and the ones on the list, as on their way out are all the others. So not only do you get a modem that processes data faster, but you are in the beginning of a modem's requirement with ISPs in the future. There are not a lot of choices that are Docsis 3.0 and accepted by all the major ISPs yet, as the Motorola's are. It is not all positive either. A negative is they are on the expensive side, all the SB and SBG of Motorola are Docsis 3.0, and they all do come at a premium price. If you are not in the market for a new modem, you may want to wait for prices to come down, if you need a modem now, definitely look at the Motorola's SB6120 and SB6121 if it's just a modem you are wanting. What ever your decision, make sure it's a Docsis 3.0 and runs on your internet service provider.

If you like paying small sums and getting big results. This is it!!
This router is out of production, so the price is right. The router hooks up to wireless items with your eyes closed. The only draw back, which has an up side too is it runs only at 2.4 GHz not the 5 GHz bands also as the dual band ones do. The down side of setting routers at 5 GHz is they loose coverage area considerable. You do get theoretically 300 Mbps, but running at 2.4 GHz is still fast at realistic 130 Mbps, and a lot more coverage to wander outside with your laptop, or to the other end of your home. The 802.11n router has twice the coverage as a 802.11g. One of 802.11n's key features is multiple input, multiple output (MIMO). In general, MIMO routers use multiple antennas and different transmission technologies to improve speed and range, and MIMO routers have an easier time pushing the signal through obstacles like walls and doors. They also have less "dead spots" than the 802.11g. Remember you can't go any faster than your ISP provides, and just getting an "N" router won't speed your system up, unless you have an "N" adapter card in your laptop or PC. Also your 4 ports are GIG Ethernet ports. So if you can give up on trying to run at 300 Mbps, then you have everything a "N" wireless router has to offer, with amazingly easy hookup at a very low price.
