RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich If hip-hop is dying, than Eminem is the adrenaline shot that is keeping the heart beating. Eminem’s “Recovery” is just what hip-hop needs, as this is by far one if not his finest works lyrical on an album. Just a year past after his last release: “Relapse”. Eminem is back and his new album Recovery states that. I have not heard his flow so crisp and so tight since “The Marshall Mathers LP”, and for you voice pickers out, yes Eminem is back to his normal voice for most of the Album. On “Recovery”, Eminem is showing the maturity in his lyrics, but still maintains the purity which in why I love Eminem. He has adapted to the changing trends in hip-hop but still maintains what keeps him apart for other rappers. For example this album appears to have a few more guest artists than pervious one and there is some auto tune T- Pain hooks. Nether one of these things are bad, as he still has that psychedelic flow that he is know for. This is pure Eminem as he is still rapping about, killing, doing drugs, having sex, being the best, and etc. I, who enjoyed last year’s album “Relapse” was very surprise and please to see him go back to a lyrical assault. I was also surprise how Eminem was disappointed by his last album “Recovery”. That is one of the reasons why I love Eminem. He sets the bar so high for himself that he diss last year album “Relapse” in tracks on “Recovery”.
I was afraid I was going to be disappointed as I felt his debut single “Not Afraid” was good but not great. Oh I was wrong!! From listing to the first track “Cold Wind Blows” to the last one “Here We Go” I was left satisfy and empress. The 5 songs you must listen to are, Cinderella Man, Here We Go, No Love, and So Bad.
If you love Eminem get this, if you hate Eminem get this. Regardless; I promise you won't be disappointed.
Oh a message for Kanye, Jay-Z, Mos Def push your album’s to next year as Eminem’s “Recovery” is going to rap album of the year. Yes it is that good!!
