Need to work outdoor and with a big conductor. I use a RG8U with centre core and screen shorted.

Very good performance when used outdoor (AM band up to 28Mhz which I have tested), but not inside urban concrete high rise unit.
Good to keep one for SWL when you have a small open space garden or if you play it outdoor. The build quality looks good, but I haven't proved if it is water proof.
