An African concept that refers to humanity between
people within a community (Nyaumwe & Mukabela: 2007). It is summarised in the Isizulu phrase Ubuntu ngumuntu ngabantu which translates as “a person is a person through other people”
It can also be translated into “I am because we are”
BB Excell Designs was founded by Bridget Bimha, a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design graduate from Arts University Plymouth, a Zimbabwe native now residing in the UK, and a pillar in the immigrant community of Plymouth. We brings the vivacious spirit of African fashion to all. We handcraft vibrant, culturally-inspired clothing and jewellery with an understanding of sustainable clothing practices. Our creations celebrate Africa's rich heritage with joy and passion. We aim to make African fashion accessible to everyone, fostering inclusivity and unity. Bridget's passion and heritage infuse every piece, connecting you to Africa's colorful story.
