Could have been better but it did give a good BRS fix.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought this game in the White Premium Box so I could obtain the exclusive figma. The figma is a whole different story, so I shall stick to reviewing the game itself.
The game is pretty straight forward and very easy to get accustomed to. The storyline is very different with the rest of the BRS universe (this seems to hold true for every installment of BRS) and is in no way related either. The fighting system is quite simple and is RPG realtime: you can either shoot with your cannon, block, dodge, use items, or use skills with cooldown times. The stages aren't too difficult as long as you stay within target level or higher. I leveled ahead like crazy it felt a little too easy at times, but I do know the battles can be very difficult if you're below or at the target level. Boss battles are fun but also annoying because even at high levels they can hurt so much! But it's easy to catch on as there is a set battle pattern.
There are some unlockables that you can obtain as you play normally or through extra missions. You can unlock art, music, videos, and extra skills as well as things to change Stella's (BRS) look. Another thing they threw in was some voices. There are some prominent Japanese voice actors providing vocals (Sakamoto Maaya as BRS, and Sawashiro Miyuki as Nana Gray). I think they made BRS sound way too innocent and soft than what I'm used to.
Unfortunately, the game is quite short. I played it off and on for a little less than 2 weeks and finished everything. So I'm sure if you play it straight through you could finish it in a couple handfuls of hours. The graphics also do not present much, but it's PSP so I wouldn't expect anything -too- amazing anyway.
In short, it's my opinion that the game could have offered so much more. I'd say it's just some eye candy for all the BRS fans and it can kill time here and there. As a BRS fan myself, I was excited to play it. However, after it was all said and done I'd have to honestly say it wasn't all too special. It certainly wasn't horrible, but not amazing either.
I actually wanted to give 3 1/2 stars but... Play it and see for yourself~ If you don't understand or don't want to put up with the moonrunes, then you can wait until sometime this year (I think) when they release a NA version. Though, it is not too necessary for game progress to understand what they're saying.
