Nike Blades Project X 6.0
This is one of the best feeling blades I have ever hit. This club is made for low handicaps but is not a bad play for a 14 handicap or lower. Any forged set on the market is going to have the "scary small" head size. Once you hit a forged club you will never want to go back to a cast or game improvement club. A forged club will feel and respond different. It is hard to explain feel but the response of your golf ball is not. I have played a few sets over the years. The most recent sets have been the Nike SS4d irons and blue dot Ping i3. I use Titleist Pro V or Nike Platinum balls. On a typical 155 yard shot with an easy 8 iron, the Ping i3 and Nike SS4d would land and release about 10 to 15 feet. The Nike blade would land, stop, or drop within 3 feet of impact. That is why many people tell you that using forged clubs is like "throwing darts at the pin." If you are looking at making the switch to a players club I would recommend you get a forged cavity back blade. The best forged cavity back blades are made by Mizuno. After playing with them for awhile make the switch to your favorite set of blades. If you are dead set on jumping in with both feet the Nike Forged Blades are not a bad choice. They seem to be more forgiving and easier to hit than most muscle back blades. The loft is a little weak but that is an easy adjustment made by most professional golf pro shops. You need to remember that like most blades the key is hitting the sweet spot effectively and consistently. Blades are a great learning tool because they give you immediate feedback on all off center hits. I would have to say that Nike continues to impress me. They have gotten better with age and have caught up quickly with the other golf lines.

Best Kept Secret
This is hands down the best putter I have ever used. I also think that this club would be the most sought after club in the market if it had Titleist or TaylorMade stamped on it. Don't take me word for it just give the club a try at your local pro shop. In my opinion, the Barbados is one of the most comfortable putters to use straight off the shelf. It is face balanced and I really like the three white sight lines. They contrast with the black finish and the green making alignment simple. The lower loft and grooves in the face promote a nice straight true roll just as advertised. I now know why TaylorMade is using groved inserts and the new Corza Ghost has three alignment sight lines. I have never liked mallet putters and was very reluctant to try this even after it received high marks from the Golf Digest Hot List. I am just sorry I waited so long to give it a try. The only cons I could come up with are the bright blue headcover and grip. That is just cosmetic and can easily be changed.

Titleist AP2 5-PW Project X 6.0
I would have to admit I was a little hesitant to go back to a Titleist set of irons mainly due to the myth that they are made strictly for a low handicap golfer. Any 15 handicap or lower will benefit greatly from this set of irons. All of the hype and reviews from all of the major golf stores are accurate. This club has it all but it comes with a retail price tag almost as bad as a new set of Callaway Irons. Review: In my opinion this set encompases the best of both worlds. Simply put the AP2 has the weight of a game improvement club with a players forged head. The design promotes a higher ball flight but that can be altered depending on what shaft combination you desire. I have gained about 8 yards a club and was able to (save $$$) find a used set in my specs on eBay. I choose a set with the flighted project x 6.0 shaft because I wanted to be able to work the ball and vary my ball flight depending on conditions. With all of that said you might be wondering why I stated that a 15 handicap of lower would benefit from this club? The club is not as intimidating as a blade or players club. The topline is larger and the tungsten cavity slot back provides forgiveness on most mishits. Unlike a blade most mishits with the AP2 stay on the target line with a slight loss in distance. I highly recommend that you demo this set of clubs if you are looking for a transition club. I have been searching for the last few years for a club that would help me get back to forged players clubs. That search is over because this is the only forged set (besides the Bridgestone j36 Pocket Cavity) that I have found that is beneficial for a mid handicap player.
