Can't Get Enough of Harry Potter on Audio CDs
I have loved the Harry Potter Series since Book 1 and was anxious for Book 7 and sorry to see it end. My three grandaughters ages 5, 7 and 9 are all Potter fans and have all seven books on audio CDs. My purchase was to replace the audio books that I had given them. No better story reader than Jim Dale, he makes the book come alive. Start a young child early on listening to audio books. Mom or dad can hold the hard copy and let the reader read and follow along. My nine-year-old grandaughter started listening at the age of 3, and at age 4 she decided she wanted to read herself. The next girl followed and now the third. Can't afford to buy audio books, many libraries have them to loan on cassettes or CDs. Play books in the car rather than radio or music. The kids will calm down listening to stories. Give the children a head start in language development by listening to books read by excellent readers. Of course, enjoy the movies too but the children soon realize that books have the detail. I'm the granny that comes to visit and brings new books to listen to. Buy them used, save some money, buying from E-bay used is great. Enjoy many hours of listening.

BBC Version of Five Children and It
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich Five Children and It was a book written by E. Nesbit who pre-dates C.L. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia author). The book comes alive in this series, I was thrilled with the production. It will be a favorite with my grandchildren. There are no negatives with this presentation. Great opportunity for dinner and a movie with the grandchildren. My grandchildren listen to audio books extensively, ages 5, 7 and 9. I buy audio books for them and when I find movie versions of the books, I buy them too. Develop listening skills then add visual. Works for me too.

Magic Tree House Series
Introduce a child to a bit of history and new words to their vocabulary. Children love to be read to and these books will spark their imaginations. I love listening to them and I'm the granny buying the books for the grandchildren. Get the children listening to audio books from four on and watch how well they begin reading on their own. Two of the three grandughters were readers at five years old. Their mother borrowed audio books from the library and now I buy and keep them supplied.
