Gretsch G5422G-12 Electromatic Electric Guitar - Black/Rosewood GENTLY USED
24. Jan 2019
Classic sound, looks, and workmanship and a great value.
I love the guitar and the deal I got on it. It was advertised as "gently used", but seemed virtually brand new. The workmanship is tight, clean, and excellent. It tunes up beautifully. The frets are polished and the ends nicely finished. The guitar has many lovely cosmetic touches, with neck binding, bound f-holes, inlayed fret markers, all executed flawlessly. This is my first Gretsch, after a lifetime (50+ years) of playing, so the controls took a little getting used to, but they are clean sounding and useful. I play it through a Vox AC15 C1 and it's pickups are clear and clean and full sounding. I bought this guitar for my open D tuning stuff and it has responded beautifully. I can't put it down. My only issue with this guitar (and to be fair, it's an issue with many hollowbody 12 strings), is balance. Neck dive is a problem with this instrument. It was not unexpected, but still is a disappointment. I am working on a rough surfaced leather guitar strap and maybe some sort of counterweight to balance it and minimize the problem. Still, all in all, this is an excellent guitar. In spite of being made overseas, it's construction meets or even exceeds that of American made Gretschs I used to pick up to try in the mid-70s. It's a great deal and a great instrument!

TREMOLO DUESENBERG LES TREM II for Les Paul Guitar CHROME TM85C Export
30. Okt 2018
Installs, looks and works great!
The Duesenberg Les Trem is ridiculously easy to install. It fit perfectly on my Epiphone Firebird, the included bolts should fit either SAE or metric threads, the trem looks great and finally, it works great. It is easily the equal of either a Bigsby or a Stetsbar for a much friendlier price. The only reason I did not give the Duesenberg 5 stars is that, as a guy who palm mutes quite a lot, the height and bulk of this thing so close to the bridge forces me to adjust my playing to account for it. Otherwise, I am delighted with this Duesenberg Les Trem and may well by another for my Epiphone Dot!
