Marantz CC3000 5 Disc CD Player
I wanted a cheap cd changer for use during parties and found this one for 50 dollars (price + shipping). I was surprised to find that it had a Burr-Brown DAC and digital output if you have a high quality DAC you prefer. The CC3000 is also equipped with a remote operated volume control that is hard to find on a low cost cd player. Sound quality is very good with the Burr-Brown DAC, in fact the sound is better than a lot of 300-400 dollar new players I've heard!! If you need a good low cost cd changer as I did and find one of these, buy it, you won't be sorry.

Great cd player overall, but may not do the job for some.
The sound quality of the Denon DCM-27 is excellent but some may find it to be a bit laid back on the high end. My system uses a preamp that does not have any tone controls or equalization of any kind and will reveal the true character of recordings and equipment. For critical listening I use a NAD M-5 cd player and sometimes my Oppo BDP-83SE bluray player, but for continuous music listening I have an old Marantz cd changer. I bought the Denon to replace the aging Marantz (they are both in the same price range) and when comparing them side by side two things have come up. The first thing I noticed was the softer high end, I have owned many Denon products over the years and all of them need a break-in period to sound their best, so I have waited to write this review after 80hrs. of play time and the high end has opened up some but is still a little laid back. The second thing came up when a friend tried to play a recorded disc and the player would not even acknowledge there was a disc there! My Marantz played it flawlessly so all was not lost. The Denon is a fine player and I plan to keep it despite these differences, I'll just have to keep the old Marantz as back up! I do not know what format that disc was recorded in, but I don't burn my own cd's anyway so it's no big deal to me, but for others this may be a problem.

Oldie but a goodie!
Even though the CTs line is long gone, good used examples are out there and worth a look. Combine 8 channels with 150-170 watts each with legendary Crown sound quality and reliability- well, what's not to love?
