These S & P grinders were advertised as "open box" and in excellent condition. They were obviously used; one still had salt dust in it, and the other was broken and taped together. It was not damaged in shipping since it was taped together before packaging. I didn't know why the tape was on it, taping the plastic area where the peppercorns are housed to the bottom chrome section of the grinder. When I pulled off the tape, I saw that the plastic piece was broken down into the chrome bottom.
