The idol arrived with a thick brown sticky substance in the crevices. Seller advised they all come like this but it is not referenced in the description (I spent hours researching which idol to buy). When I say it was sticky, a light wipe with a soft cloth stuck to the substance and transferred to the cloth. I spent 1.5 hours carefully cleaning off this stuff and now have it looking pretty good. The actual sculpture is very well done but I must give Neutral feedback for the stress and hassle.

As I mentioned, all the idols have an antique finish that is applied to all the corners of the idol and finally a thin layer of varnish is added to protect everything. It is a laborious job.
This aged finish gives the idols the charm and original touch that many idols for sale do not have.
I sent you a freshly finished idol, it is possible that it would have needed an extra day to dry from all the treatment. Keep in mind that it is handmade.
