I bought the E72 because it's one of the few nokia phones that regular people can purchase without sacrificing a limb, phone prices nowadays are just ridiculous!!! any ways. I like its simplicity, it has everything I need: great battery life, a nice 5mp camera, gps, email, web browsing, full qwerty keyboard. and it fits in any pocket. some people consider the small screen a downside! I don't. because i think the real problem seriously overshadows the screen size, it crashes like crazy. now this is a big deal. Nokia really has to step up. seriously....every nokia i owned has one gigantic issue. i'm giving a 4 star because of that.
In terms of sheer functionality, this phone rocks. It has everything you desire as a business man, word, excel, powerpoint, pdf reader, zip opener and a plethora of other business related gadgetry. The user interface is simple and straight forward. If u owned a Nokia before the transition will be seamless,if you're new to Nokia, its just as easy to navigate. The build quality is superb, the steel feels solid and looks elegant while remaining slim and pocketable. The web browser is good, it gets the job done and its easy to navigate through different pages. The connectivity is great, ovi maps, life long gps service, bluetooth, wifi and 3g. The wifi receptor is very good. Multitasking is top notch. What I don't like is that the phone rings too low so you will probably misss calls in a noisy area. The user interface, while easier to understand, is very outdated and is desperately in need of an overhaul. Not because its business doesn't mean I don't want a little eye candy, I'm going to be looking at the phone all day. The user interface needs to be more intuitive also. Symbian is great but it needs an upgrade for it to be seen as a true competitor in the smartphone world to me. Frankly, symbian is too basic for my liking thus the E72 is not the ideal phone and hence the Blackberry will have a edge over it in the business world. Overall the E72 is a great phone with exemplary functionality for the business minded but a complete overhaul is needed for the user interface and making the phone more intuitive is also much needed .Vollständige Rezension lesen
This phone was good, but it had a couple of drawbacks, which I will list below: - The memory (RAM): It has a total of 120 mb, and about 50 mb is already used up by default background applications. And if you run out of memory (which happens often if you browse webpages that don't have a mobile version), then all the programs restart. - The camera: It's good, but the flash is kind of annoying, since it turns on when you are trying to focus the camera, and you cannot turn off the shutter sound. - The optical track-pad thing: it's pretty useless. And also, if you are thinking of buying it, don't go for one of the cheap ones (less that $200) from Hong-Kong or China - they're probably refurbished and defective.
this is a good model from E series. with all its pluses: full keyboard, very long battery life, nice feel etc. But this particular model looks a bit slow to respond. i dunno why. i had older models that are faster. also, some issues with inserting SD card with new music (it doesnt see it sometimes) All these problems are not critical, I'm still happy with it. Its metallic feel and full keyboard (+mp player) And most of all,,, its UNBREAKABLE!)) i'm trail running with it and it saw a lot of trouble, its strong.

After having owned a Nokia E51 and E71, I thought I knew what I was getting into with the E72. After spending a couple of weeks with this phone, I find some things similar, but some things not so similar...to its detriment. I really loved my first two E series phones. They were snappy, had good feature, OS felt useful and solid, and VOIP worked out of the box with integrated SIP software. The E72 seems sluggish. When you press a button or go through the menus it is slow to respond. It seems more like a mobile phone from 10 years ago than a modern one. Nokia has dropped out of the box SIP support and replaced it with VOIP software from some provider. You can get the native SIP working again, but you have to create an account on the Nokia Developers Forum and download a software add-on to re-enable the SIP support in the OS. There is an Optical Navi key to scroll by moving your finger, but it works poorly. I turned it off right away. Webbrowsing is slow and scrolling is not smooth. I use Opera and it worked much better on the E51 and E71. On the E72, it is very sluggish and annoying. One last beef, is that it comes preinstalled with vlingo, which on my phone crashes instantly upon running. Unfortunately, it tries to run it everytime the phone is started up. It asks me to set it up and everytime it crashes after the first screen. It can't be uninstalled. I will have to do that everytime I boot my phone for eternity. On the good side, it is a solidly built phone. It has a normal mini-jack headphone plug and audio quality is improved over the previous E series phones. The keyboard and screen are great to use. The sound quality of the phone is excellent. Generally as a phone it's great. As a smart phone, Nokia has done something wrong with the software side and they should get their act together. The E51 and E71 were great phones. I don't know who the brain surgeon was who redid the OS and software side, but they should be looking for new work in another field. Overall, still a good phone, but not a perfect effort.Vollständige Rezension lesen
