A fascinating and compelling book. A real look behind the immediately obvious horror. I could not put it down, as it is what I would call truly readable. The author tells all - good as well as bad - whereas so often in Holocaust books you only get the bad side, which in this book you still see,

This is vital reading for anyone suffering or suicidal. You are led through Viktor Frankl's brave and stark account of life amidst the brutality and cruelty of concentration camps, to see that even there, in the worst of places, human beings are hardwired to find meaning. In fact, you see that those who did, and who found the deepest inner strength, sometimes survived even when their physical bodies were challenged by disease and starvation. This is a man, a psychiatrist, truly fit to speak about how to find meaning and hope in life. He has been to hell and back. This is no textbook, ivory tower author. He leads us out of the concentration camps to see how meaning can be found in even the most painful and seemingly hopeless situations. No situation is beyond the ability to see a meaning in it. You see that it is ok to be suffering. That is not to glorify suffering, but you can see how any suffering becomes bearable if you are led to see a meaning in it. Please, please read this book if you are suffering in any way or have lost hope and/or contemplate suicide. There’s a great story behind the large words and the many turns this book takes. It’s not just a man who’s experienced concentration camps, it’s a man who knows there’s always a meaning to everything including suffering and unhappiness as well as the positives in life. Great read for anyone looking to find something that might be missing from their life

Such a strong life experience and eye openning story that changes view on our lives. I couldn't put this book away and I believe that human mind is capable of more than we can think of, or we can imagine. Frankl's strong mindset and his knowledge has ability to turn your current thinking upside down. If he was able to go through this hell on the Earth, so we can! Never give up! Until the mind is sharp, we can bear unbereable.
