I bought this Dell x50v PDA for my Fiance as a gift.Despite the initial problems about the wrong charger which was sorted out quickly it has been an excellent product and very well used by my fiance.Apart from owning a Virgin PDA phone that was brought about 5 yrs ago which has also been well used I can't compare with other similar product as I don't have any experience of them.

Of all the(affordable)Pocket P.C.s which I have tried-Toshiba,Cassiopia[although very pretty],Franklin,Palm;the Dell axim X50 PDA(& the 51v)really does take the palm. For a start, unlike some,it has a decent lock button which ensures that it does not get accidently switched on in the pocket, which is of top importance in a device intended to be carried in that receptacle. It is simpicity itself to use.The provision of both a C.D. & an S.D.card slot, both conveniently placed on the top,are a boon indeed.Long battery life-especially when used with a 4Ah one(although, these stick out quite a bit, which inhibits it's use in other than the "Slip-in"case supplied). The screen is recessed,so that it is protected. The use of screen-protectors,is always a wise precausion-although I do not take mine own advice;& it is fair to say that the Dell is a robust article in any case.It is as attractive as any. As to the Dell Axim X50v's other systems & their usage,I am unable to comment;as I use mine mainly as a Bible Study tool."E-Sword"is anexcellent free search engine from which one can load Bibles in most tongues;& most(English)translations. There are most of the main Commentaries-these alone would cost hundreds of pounds if bought as books;&c.&c.With the provision of both cards, there is ample space for these,as well as numerous books,so that one is never at a loss for reading material. There is both hand-writing recognition,&!"Graffiti"so beloved of the Palm lovers,& a smallish QWERTY keyboard onboard. These PDAs are readily obtainable on EBay,mostly around the £80 mark;which make them a bargain.I have owned 3.This last one came complete with GPS unit with all of it's paraphanalia. This was an especial bargain, which would be difficult to equal,I agree. However mine other two were only around the £20 mark. The first one that I have bought,& which I have used daily for many years, finally fell over.I did take it to bits(for the Dell X50 is easy to dissemble.I pessimistically bought another for £19.Admittedly,it was in French but at leaast EZ-Sword is in English! In short;the Dell axim X50 is as good a PDA as one could wish, compared with the others on the market.Mine is in daily use;& I would thoroughly recommend this type of machine.Dell has it about right for me.Vollständige Rezension lesen
