I usually played Mizuno T-zoid Pro or Hogan apex plus (both forged) with regular steel shafts but bought the FP graphites after my heart bypass surgery seeking a bit more distance with less effort. They are fine clubs. Although The wider sole takes a bit of getting used, they definitely give you a bit more distance ,Play better from the rough, are accurate and deliver a high ball flight that will still stop the ball like a forged club. When hit on the center they feel just like forged and still feel good off center. Although you dont get as much feedback they are more forgiving on bad swings. They are a little harder off a tight lie due to the wider sole and a bit more bounce and as a result play a little easier off bermuda than bentgrass.Right now the 2007 models are pretty cheap and a good buy. I dont know why cobra made the sole shiny as it becomes scratched to a buff finish in only a few rounds and they should have just left if as a matte finish from the beginning .I think any hcp 10 or higher will like these clubs(I am a 12 index). I hope this helps your decision.Vollständige Rezension lesen
How incredibly lucky I was to come upon a set of 2007 Cobra FP irons 4-PW w/GW... I'd never seen a more amazing looking set of irons and was comparison shopping on ebay as I watched this auction, which was in it's final minutes tick down. I saw how ridiculously low the bid price was so I entered a bid in the final seconds and literally outbid someone by 1 cent. Not only are these clubs incredibly light feeling and well balanced in your hands, they're by far the sweetest looking set I'd ever seen. Completely color coordinated with their beautiful graphite shafts. Variations of blue, black and white just look tremendous in consort with each other. I couldn't wait to take the 6 iron to the range and compare it with some other sets I own. Wow. I was hoping they performed half as well as they looked and was astonished when their performance matched their style. Rare. Straight business...these clubs are absolutely fantastic in every single aspect. I bought them simply because of their tremendous aesthetic appeal and may keep them due to their performance. If you can find a set of these on ebay with the coordinated shafts, grips and heads you have to take a flier on them. I don't think you'll be disappointed and I know you'll be the most styling golfer on the course or at the range.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Purchased the FP's with steel shaft. These are some sweet clubs. I have played a lot of brand name clubs, most recently the Big Bertha 2004's which I thought were a very good club with a soft feel. These FP's are a way better club, for me anyhow. They are lighter, which means much more control and not having to swing quite so hard. The lofts are similar to the Callaways so they hit about the same distance. They are very forgiving, yet workable and when you catch it on the sweet spot they feel like a forged club (yes they are that good). Overall, one of the best clubs out there for the money. The only issue I have with them is that they seem to get dinged up quite easily. My Big Bertha's were in the bag for 3 years and didn't have as many bag rattle dings as the FP's got in less than a month. At the risk of looking like a golf geek, I would suggest getting some iron covers for these.Vollständige Rezension lesen
I rented a set of these on vacation and fell in love, so when I saw a 4-LW set for under $100 it was a no-brainer. Much more forgiving than the Titleist 690-CBs & Vokeys I was playing previously. The wedges are particularly super easy to hit. All the clubs are lofted about a club strong, so it's a nice ego boost even if it's only smoke & mirrors. They're never going to as workable, pretty, or flashy as nice forged set, but who cares when you're sitting pin-high for birdie. If you're struggling with a better-player set and need to dial it back, this is a great game-improvement option for a killer price.
These clubs are fairly heavy, I like heavy irons. They are easy to swing and keep on line. I hit these at fairly standard distances for me, 9 iron about 100 yards, 6 iron at 160 yards. I wish the set had come with a sand wedge, instead of a gap wedge. I find a sand wedge is more versatile but maybe I'll get used to it. There is no vibration on a cleanly hit ball in any of the clubs. I've only played a couple of rounds with these but they were worth the money.
