I bought this cd to replace a damaged one from the 90s. I prefer this original version of the soundtrack, as there are no artificial 'taps' added, to create a stage performance style.

This CD combines all the best musical sections from the original Riverdance - The Show that performed in Dublin and London. As well as containing all the common tracks including 'Riverdance'; 'Reel Around the Sun' and 'Firedance' it also contains 'Hope to the Suffering' a track which was only included in the original shows. This CD demonstrates clearly the diverse composing styles of Bill Whelan and captures all that is good about the renewed combination of Irish Dancing and Irish Music that Riverdance started at the Eurovision Song Contest. This CD is a must for fans of both Irish Music and Dance.
I bought the cassette about 10 years ago and knowing the album quite well, I wanted to buy the CD. The song contains some lovely, atmospheric celtic songs which are good for background music to work or study to.
I needed the music, for a dance routine I am doing with children in our christmas play .We are dancing with ribbens ,the children are between the ages of 4yrs too 14yrs. Some of the tunes will be appropriate for the dancing Thank-you korky.
