I resently bought the Compaq iPaq Pocket PC H3970 and I did like it alot because it is very user friendly. I love the fact that the whole screen is touch screen compared to other PDA that only have a small area to write in. I was very impressed because you can write anything on the screen and it will be typed into MS word pocket. The PDA is computer compatible and contains MS word, MS excel, and MS Outlook. However, there were somethings that I was not so happy about. If you are loking for a PDA with integrated internet capacity then this is not the PDA for you because you will have to by an additional Wi-Fi SD card. they are not expensive, but this is just a FWI. Another thing that I disliked was the compatability. If you have windows vista then it will not be compatible. The PDA is only compatible with windows XP versions or lower. Luckly I have a computer that runs on Vista and one that runs on XP so I didn't stress on this on that much. Other than that the PDA is very good for it's price. If you are looking for an strater organizer at a good price then this is that PDA for you. You don't want to spend 500 buck on something you might not even use so just go with this PDA for starters.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Prior to 2003, I had no experience with Pocket PC devices. On accepting a new job in healthcare IT, the H3970 was one piece of equipment deployed to me, and I saw this as a means to begin to create a Contact List backup of my rapidly aging (but still reliable) Sharp Wizard. Over the next 4 years, I intermittently manually entered contact/address book data into the iPAQ, and I found it to be intuitive and easy to learn and use. Auto-fill really helped to speed data entry into certain fields although the timing of capture of that auto-fill data takes a little getting used to. I also found that I could easily download and store (and display) family photos from the SD card from my digital camera-- very convenient! Eventually, corporate re-structuring appeared on the horizon. I successfully obtained a duplicate H3970 on eBay (for under $100 including shipping -- great deal!!!). I backed up my corporate iPAQ on a personal laptop at home (relatively easy and intuitive). I then successfully uploaded all of that data from my laptop to the iPAQ that I had obtained on eBay. Shortly thereafter, I was out of a job and had to return the corporate iPAQ; however, due to the ease of use and the Backup and Restore functions using Microsoft ActiveSync, I experienced no data loss. One warning--- if by chance, the battery is run completely down to zero, it is my understanding that all data WILL be lost!! I have not experienced this because I always keep my unit charged; however, owner/user beware!Vollständige Rezension lesen
This is my second iPAQ and it's a good choice for the money. It does everything I need and efficiently. Easier to read than the earlier models and has Bluetooth if you need it, better battery capacity too. I keep track of everything, work hours per Category, tax deductions and trip calendar. I then upload to Outlook where I can review and make reports as necessary. Great little time saver and eliminates those big, bulky Day Timmers. Best of Luck!!
Love the size, and price performance. The key to me buying was the number of accessories that came with it. Only negative with the item was it was not internet ready, I had to but a wireless card. I just didn't know the device and I assumed it was built in from the manufactures specs. Excellent vendor!!!
