At first glance, this looks like just another $50.00 DW5600E-1V. Same shape, same basic watch module, with most of the same functions(you would have to step up to the GWM5610-1 for the solar and atomic functions , in the case. But it's the case that makes all the difference. It's a screw back model, with an all stainless steel case and screw on case back(with the beautiful DLC coating). And the band is of a more supple material than the one on the DW5600E-1V. Overall the the whole watch has a much better quality feel than the standard and it's a bit more heavy, but feels better on the wrist. It's made in Japan instead of China(if that makes a difference to you), and of course costs much, much more. About 6 times more. Which brings me to the good value yes/no portion of the rating on the product. Is it a good value? Well, I feel it was well worth the asking price, so I bought one and I'm very happy with it. But the base model is, quite frankly, just as good from a watch/tool standpoint. Both will do the same job, tell time, be used as an alarm, etc., etc. And while you can abuse them both and they will take a serious beating and just keep on working, you just may want to save that for the base model and wear the GW5000 in a less utilitarian way. As I have a base model, that's what I do. But that's up to you. I'm very happy with mine! Vollständige Rezension lesen

I've had this style of Casio ever since I could remember. When G-Shock came out I owned a few of those too. But this one takes the cake. If you're looking for a watch that doesn't attract a lot of attention, that's very high quality and has all the features that you're looking for, this is your watch. It has everything except Bluetooth...but who the heck needs that in a functional well-rounded watch.

I grew up with G Shocks as my first watch for a long time but I parted ways for more of traditional automatic leather band watch and have been wanting to get back into it. Granted the price is a bit high for a G shock, but I know these last a lifetime and take hard beating so In a couple years I know I’ll have my moneys worth. I have a pretty small wrist I think about 6.25 maybe a bit bigger but there’s not a lot of band showing and isn’t as big as I thought it be so that’s a plus! The only complaint I guess I have is the auto light feature you kind of have to turn your wrist in a funny way to get it to light up but it’s not a big deal and I honestly could care less I’m use to hitting the button anyway. All in all it’s a awesome watch to do anything in and is stylish for most day to day related activities like going to work, class, or with outdoor activities like fishing and hiking.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This is a modern take on the classic 5000 model from the 1980's. My father used to have one when I was a kid and it lasted for years. The modern 5000 looks the same with the same sturdy build quality and black straps. The materials have been improved - Silicon straps instead of rubber. The feels smoother and more flexible and probably will last longer. The watch itself now have some features that didn't exist in the original model, like solar power charging and radio synchronization for local time (not everywhere). This is a great daily watch that will go with me everywhere without worrying about it. After all, it's a G-Shock! I bought the classic black colored one, but I noticed there is also a Stainless Steel one in various colors (Natural steel, Blue, Red, etc.). Maybe one day I'll get another one (the Blue one looks great).Vollständige Rezension lesen

Very happy with this purchase. I have searched for the best G-Shock for me. I wanted a Japan only model. I first purchased the iconic Frogman. Loved it but the shape didn't sit well on my wrist. Then tried a Mudmaster and found it too large. This watch is 80s understated minimalist style with premium materials. It fits perfectly on my wrist. Couldn't be happier. It costs more and the decision to spend $100 roughly more on a Japan only model is very much a personal choice. For me it has been my everyday watch since it arrived.
