Canon hat ja für das Vorläufermodell dieses Objektivs viel Kritik einstecken müssen, das war wohl eine echtes Billigobjektiv. Das blieb offenbar nicht ohne Wirkung: Das neuere Modell ist ein echtes Schnäppchen. Die Verarbeitung ist zwar etwas plastikhaft (besonders, wenn man es mit einem Profiobjektiv vergleicht), und manuell lässt es sich nur fummelig bedienen - aber normalerweise setzt man solche Zooms ja in Standardsituationen mit aktivem Autofokus (AF) ein. Der ist zwar ein deutlich hörbarer Mikromotor, aber dafür schnell und ausreichend präzise. Die Bildstabilisierung arbeitet sehr effektiv. Der beste ist aber die wirklich gute Optik, sofern man den Mangel an Lichtstärke akzeptieren kann. Die relativ kleine Offenblende hat allerdings zur Folge, dass man anders als bei lichtstarken Objektiven nicht so gut mit einer flachen Schärfentiefe arbeiten kann, also ein Objekt nicht so richtig vor malerisch verschwommenen Hintergrund freistellen kann. Wer auf diese fotografische Ausdrucksmöglichkeit und Lichtstärke verzichten kann, ist aber mit dem 18-55 mm sehr gut bedient. Noch ein kleiner Nachteil: Die Frontlinse dreht sich beim Scharfstellen, aufgesetzte Polfilter muss man also nach dem Fokussieren justieren. Das Objektiv ist ziemlich immun gegen seitlichen Lichteinfall, produziert also anders als lichtstarke Vergleichsobjektive mit großen Öffnungswinkeln kaum fleckartige Artefakte in den Bildern. Freilich darf man von einem Kitobjektiv nicht erwarten, die Anforderungen, die ein Profi an seine Ausrüstung stellen würde, zu erfüllen. Ich bin kein Profi und daher schreibe ich diesen Testbericht auch aus dieser Perspektive. Für den Einsteiger ist das Objektiv ganz hervorragend geeignet, zumal ich erst vor kurzem meine ersten digitalen Gehversuche mit einer EOS1200D begonnen habe. Autofokusgeschwindigkeit, Abbildungsgenauigkeit und vor allen Dingen der (für mich) schon extreme Weitwinkel von 18mm sind für meine derzeitigen Zwecke sehr überzeugend. Einzig störend ist bei Videoaufnahmen das Geratter des Autofokusmotors. Leise geht anders, aber wenn man ehrlich sein möchte: Wer zeichnet Ton auf der DSLR auf, wenn es gut werden soll? Ich besitze zwar bei Weitem professionellere Objektive aus meinen Analogzeiten, die sämtlich an meiner neuen DSLR passen, musste aber feststellen, dass ich auf Grund des für mich sehr geeigneten Brennweitenbereichs, dieses Objektiv die meiste Zeit drauf habe und damit schon sehr schöne Fotos machen konnte. Was mir sehr gefällt ist die 3.5er Blende bei 18mm (4 bei 24mm, 4.5 bei etwa 30mm, 5 bei etwa 40mm und 5.6 ab etwa 50mm; alle Brennweiten nicht genau gemessen, sondern geschätzt). Wer in diesem Brennweitenbereich von Zoomobjektiven mehr Licht will, muss zu Sigma (variable Blende ab 2.8) oder Tamron (durchgehend 2.8) zu wesentlich höheren Preisen greifen. Ich rede hier von bezahlbaren Objektiven und nicht von Lichtweltmeistern jenseits der 2000€. Insgesamt macht das Objektiv wesentlich mehr Spaß als frühere Kitobjektive von Canon. Insbesondere positiv überrascht war ich von der Leistung der Bildstabilisierung. Es benötigt ein paar Experimente, bis man genau weiß, wie viel Schwankung das Objektiv wann ausgleichen kann, aber schon ohne zu wissen, was man eigentlich tut, stellt die Bildstabilisierung eine enorme Hilfe dar. Obwohl das ganze Objektiv, inklusive Bajonett aus Kunststoff besteht, wirkt das ganze sehr gut verarbeitet und sauber. All das hat das Objektiv auf der Habenseite. Zu den negativen Punkten: Das Objektiv ist durchgehend aus Plastik gefertigt. Das muss nicht negativ sein, doch wirklich robust wirkt die ganze Konstruktion nicht. Nun gut, es handelt sich um ein Objektiv und keinen Hammer, aber wer schon einmal etwas wertigere Objektive in der Hand hatte, weiß wovon ich rede. Der Tubus ist etwas arg wackelig, insbesondere wenn komplett ausgefahren. Wer das Objektiv allerdings nicht auf ein Motocross-Motorrad schnallt, um damit Actionfotos zu machen, dem wird das in der Praxis kaum auffallen. Wer den (übrigens manuell übersteuerbaren) Autofokus ausschaltet, der wird relativ schnell merken, dass die manuelle Fokussierung eine etwas ungenaue Angelegenheit ist das liegt einerseits an der internen Übersetzung (ziemlich direkt: 45° decken den gesamten Fokusbereich ab) und andererseits daran, dass konstruktionsbedingt ein gewisses Spiel in der Mechanik steckt. Das Objektiv scheint nunmal für den Autofokusbetrieb gebaut worden zu sein; Schalte ich den Motor dann aus, ergibt sich einfach eine gewisse ungenauigkeit, da keiner der Konstrukteure besonderen Wert auf die manuelle Fokussierung gelegt zu haben scheint. Fazit: Es handelt sich selbstverständlich nicht um ein Eier legendes Wollmilch-Objektiv, aber eines mit überraschend guter Leistung, einem sehr praktischen Brennweitenbereich und das alles zu einem unschlagbaren Preis. Seit einiger Zeit fotografiere ich Theatervorstellungen, Konzerte und andere Veranstaltungen. Hierfür suche ich eine Kostengünstige Alternative für mein IS freies 18-55, um mit meiner EOS 1100 auch im kurzen Brennweiten-bereich Stabil und blitz frei Fotografieren zu können. Das Objektiv hat einen schnellen AF Motor, der leider ein ziemliches Getöse macht, also lauter als der IS freie Vorgänger. Das ist aus meiner Sicht aber der einige Nacheil.OK ich habe auch noch ein EF 28- 135 IS mit USM Motor und könnte daher etwas verwöhnt sein. Die Verzeichnungen halten sich in Grenzen, da die EOS 1100 diese rausrechnet. Das Objektiv ist relativ kompakt und leicht,mit einem Filtergewinde Durchmesser von 58 mm gibt es auch Filter und anderes Gedöns für kleines Geld
Ich bewerte das Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3,5-5,6 IS STM Über ebay gekauft, weil ich es hier für nur 100,- Euro inc. Versandt NEU bekommen konnte. Bis dato ein sehr guter Preis für ein Objektiv, welches als Kit zur 700D o. 70D angeboten wird. Ich nutze eigendl. ein EF-S 15-85mm USM, womit dieser Brennweitenbereich eigdl. abgedeckt ist. Gekauft hatte ich es mir, weil es mit der STM Fokustechnik nun möglich ist, Videos vernünftig auch mit einer Canon DSLR (650D) zu "drehen", wo der Autofokus zügig, sicher und weich einstellt. Nur dafür hatte ich dieses Objektiv gekauft. Ich muss aber "sagen", daß es besser ist als ich erst dachte. Es macht schärfere Bilder als der direkte Vorgänger, das IS II mit dem Mikromotor Fokus. Zudem sind die Lensflares viel geringer, fast garkeine und die CAs wie auch Farblängsfehler sind weniger. Die Frontlinse dreht beim Scharfstellen nicht mehr mit, ein Seegen bei der Verwendung von Polfilter und man kann nun beim Autofokus direkt manuel eingreifen, wenn man will. Da es auch sehr leicht ist, gab ich dem Objektiv schon einmal den Vorzug vor dem 15-85mm USM und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Ich habe das Objektiv etwa ein halbes Jahr und bin sehr zufrieden. Meines hat keinen IS und kein USM. Trotzdem reicht es für meine Zwecke völlig aus. Ich kaufte es für den unteren Brennweitenbereich. Bevorzugt fotografiere ich meine Familie - hauptsächlich die Kinder und deren Freunde - und die Eindrücke (Aussichten, Gebäude, etc.) von unseren Ausflügen. Daher finde ich es eher positiv, dass es aus Kunststoff gefertigt ist, macht es leicht. Und eine DSLR und die Objektive behandelt man eh pfleglich, also kann ich die negativen Beurteilungen nicht nachvollziehen. Da ich auch nicht stundenlang nach Verzerreungen, Verzeichnungen und ähnlichem Suche, reicht es bildtechnisch für den Einsteiger und auch den Amateur erstmal völlig aus. Ich würde das Objektiv jederzeit wieder kaufen, besonders zu den Preisen, die man hier bei ebay für gebrauchte zahlt. Bei meinen Zwecken empfiehlt sich aber USM und IS. Also standart Objektiv der Canon Eos-Reihe ist es durchaus sehenswert. Der Autofocus funktioniert gut und schnell. Wenn man einmal problme hat das gewünschte objekt zu fokussieren (große einfarbige Flächen, dünne Objeke,...) kann man immer noch mit dem manuellen Focus arbeiten, welcher in der entsprechenden Kameraeinstellung mit dem autofocussystem synchronisiert. (soll heißen, hat man eines der Aotofocusfelder manuell focussiert, blinkt die entsprechende Zelle kurz auf) Größere Mängel sind mir (bisher) nicht aufgefallen - definitiv empfehlenswert!!
Autofokus ist schnell und leise, IM arbeitet zuverlässig bis zu 55 mm, liefert sehr gute Gesammtschärfe ab Blendenzahl 8 und gibt auch mit weit geöffneter Blende eine schärfe, welche in diesem Preissegment nicht zu finden ist, Lässt für ein Teleobjektiv akzeptabel viel Licht ein. 18-55 mm für mich persönlich völlig ausreichend, Für Anfänger und fortgeschrittene Hobbyfotografen geeignet, Preis-Leistung top.
Das Canon EF 18-55 ist ein leichtes preiswertes Objektiv das außerdem mit einem Stabilisierungsystem ausgestattet ist. Abgeblendet auf Blende 11 ist die Bildschärfe an meiner Eos 20D gut. Die Macroeinstellung bei 55mm Brennweite ermöglicht es einen Gegenstand in der Größe des Objektivdeckels (6, cm Breit) Formatfüllend zu fotografieren dabei hat man noch einen "Fluchtabstand" von ca 11cm. Gerade bei Macrofotos macht sich der eingebaute Stabilisator positiv bemerkbar. Für den Gebrauchtpreis von 80-90 Euro bei ebay erhält man eine gute leichte und vieleitige Optik die vom Weitwinkel bis zum Porträtfotobereich eingesetzt werden kann
Das Objetiv deckt einen angenehmen Bereich ab. Mit 18mm hat man einiges im Blick, und kann doch auf 55mm heranzoomen. Klar, manchmal möchte man gerne noch näher ran, aber dafür muss man auch ein bischen mehr ausgeben. Bildstabilisator (IS) is bei längeren Belichtungszeiten nützlich und Autofokus stellt meistens auf den geünschten Bereich scharf. Und wer will, kann auch manuell fokusieren. Die Lichtstärke (Blende 1:3,5 - 5,6) ist meistens ausreichend, wer mehr braucht, muss mehr Geld hinlegen. Im Großen und Ganzen ein gutes Objektiv für den Einstieg
