I was looking for my first DSLR camera as I've gotten more into food photography and wanted better quality photos for everyday shots. I got this camera because a photographer friend recommended that I find the cheapest body, and he recommended any Canon Rebel. He told me to save money on the body because the lens are what matters and what will be expensive. So far, I've mostly used the camera on auto and found that it does a great job with lighting and focus (sometimes I use manual for the focus). I have yet to look through the manual and learn more ways to fine tune my photos, but there are plenty of features and settings on the camera. As a novice DSLR user, I've found this camera is awesome and was an easy transition from a point-and-shoot!
I own a Canon EOS 650 film camera with three expensive lenses. It made sense to buy a digital body to use with these fine lenses. The EOS Rebel T3 fit the need. I was surprised at the features it has for the price. Without reading the manual, it was a snap to pop in my 50mm F1.8 lense and start taking great pictures using the Auto settings. Even my 12 year son learned how to use it right away. It is a well designed camera that a first time novice and a veteran photographer can both enjoy.
Not a professional by any means, but upgrading from a REBEL X film 35mm to the T3 made everything much easier AND faster! The best thing is all my original lenses fit AND WORK with this camera! The downside,my Speedlite 200E flash will not work correctly, after a mail to Canon, this is their reply; While you might be able to get that flash to fire on your camera, perhaps when the flash output is manually adjusted, the flash probably won't set exposure properly since the camera will be trying to communicate with the flash using ETTL, a standard that was not developed when the flash you mentioned was introduced. The advancement of technology is all,not anyone's fault and I am not complaining...with the built in flash,I probably won't need it anyway, unless I go pro with it! All in all, this was a fantastic purchase in my viewfinder, excellent for someone wanting to go from 35mm SLR or point and shoot to Digital SLR.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Nice camera. I have to say it is a pleasure to use. For those of us who appreciate Canon cameras, the feature dial is just fine. It is not a problem using any of the functions. The picture quality is wonderful, and the videos are great. If I have to find one thing that is essentially wrong with this camera... It is the absence of automatic sensor cleaning. What a thing to miss on this camera. I found out by examining my files and finding the sensor was dirty. Manually cleaning is the only option, and some may be put off with that.
Excellent combo or price/features. Needed ISO higher than 1600 but wanted a low cost. The T3's 6400 ISO is good enough to take night-time sports games with stadium lights. And, its compact form is great for travel. But, still trying to get use to handling it (vs. my 20D) to avoid accidentally hitting back panel buttons. Disappointed to learn Canon didn't make a battery grip for this. Don't want to try the 3rd party grips. Still, it filled my need.
