This book arrived on time and is in very good condition. I have read it and would recommend it. Tremendous research been done about Iceland.

This is a dark tale which is very well written, with impressive attention to historical detail. We learn a great deal about how ordinary people lived in Iceland in the early 1800's, with very little technology and simple tools, The writer's style is almost poetic which adds to the enchantment of the read.

This book is worth reading for the historical and social side of the plot. The characters are interesting and in many ways desperate in their plight for just living let alone the other factors that are brought into the story.
