This is a fun game based on the Toy Story 3 movie. The Wii version has good graphics, but the 360 and PS3 versions have better graphics. The Wii version is super fun since you can shake the Wii remote for some of the controls. To understand the storyline you should see the movie, since the game simplifies the story. The gameplay is challenging, and a young kid (like 5 years and younger) might get frustated. I overall think this is a fun game for kids ages 6 and up. For a kid under 6, you might want to help them out a bit if they keep losing. The best way to play is the Toy Box mode because it is a more laidback part of the game(you get to roam around this Western style town and do missions of medium difficulty).
This game is a good counter part to the movie but in the end it looses some of its appeal due to the controls and camera angles. The levels are not that difficult and even the youngest of minds should be able to complete most of the levels with little assistence. I will say that a few parts do take time to master and patience which is very short in the younger crowd so beware of that. The good thing is the game has a lot of checkpoints or save points so as long as the game is not turned off you don't go back too far. The graphics are great and if your child likes Toy Story then this game will be a hit.
I purchased this game for the grandchildren. It looked like fun, and if anything like the movie, It would be geared toward younger children. The youngest grandchild is 4. He is pretty good with most of the games. He was really amused with the game. The goo machine has 2 types. One shrinks anything the goo is thrown on, the other goo expands things. So he will spend a lot of time putting the goo on bullseye an riding on him as a mini pony. When it come to actual game missions, it is too difficult for the younger ones. The 13 year old has to help him with the missions. Too complex for the really young players. All in all the younger ones will grow into the game in time.
Great game. My son loves Toy Story and this was a great buy for him. I didn't know that it would feel like you were in the movie. The graphic are amazing and the game play is fantastic. Having the real voices for the characters really helps. I bought an old Buzz Lightyear Playstation game and Buzz' voice was not even close to Tim Allen's voice. That killed the game for me. The only downfall is there are parts of the game that are difficult for me, yet alone my little boy. Some kids might have problems with that. Yet again kids are pretty amazing at video games. Great buy. Works great with the WII controller.
The game itself is ok but missing a whole ton of stuff from the original XBOX version. In the Wii version there are only 48ish missions. In the XBOX version, there are 103. You get a lot more places and prize capsules in the XBox version. They deleted a lot of stuff and I was quite disappointed in this game. Not the nostalgia I was hoping for
