Requires an expansion pak!!! Be warned!!! Perfect Dark has been a key franchise component to Rare Games. Joanna Dark was the Lara Croft of the 1st person shooter until Samus stole the show in Metroid Prime. Perfect Dark was her game. The game starts out slow with training and things I could easily find out on my own but suffered through anyway. After that the game picks up rather well. Graphics are as slightly better than Goldeneye and the controls are pretty solid too. A small amount of stealth is involved but not a whole lot and all the levels are usually dark and dreary. Multiplayer is a big part of the game as well. This is not Goldeneye but it is close and tries to be unique enough to put it in a separate class. But I was never really a great fan. I was playing Half-life before I got to play Perfect Dark so my expectations were smashed to the ground. This is still a must have though for any N64 owner or Rare fan especially if you already invested in an expansion pak. 4/5Vollständige Rezension lesen
I could say that the condition of the cartridge was good, but that would be too boring. Instead, let’s talk about the game itself. And oh boy, what a game! After spending a lot of time playing Goldeneye, the production quality of Perfect Dark went way up! It was made on the same engine as Goldeneye, but this time there’s full cutscenes, voice acting, and an original story! They even added some new features such as holding the A button bring up a menu that shows all of your weapons, and holding the B button to activate the secondary firing mode! However, there are some things I should mention that gamers should consider when purchasing Perfect Dark. Unless you’re buying it on Xbox 360 or Xbox One, the frame rate sometimes has the tendency to drop below 12 frames per second, specifically when you’re running it in hi-res mode or if you’re playing multiplayer. Other than that, the target frame rate seems to be 30 fps (and occasionally 60 fps when there’s practically nothing on screen). Also, if you want to play the full single-player campaign with all of the game’s features, you must have the N64 Expansion Pak. However, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue since most N64 owners should have one anyway, especially since some games support it. Personally though, these minor flaws didn’t hinder my experience with the game. The way I see it, Perfect Dark is the best first-person-shooter on the N64!Vollständige Rezension lesen

The game looks brand new! Very clean cart that I am happy to add to my collection. Thank you for not skimping on packaging, very well bubble wrapped and used a sturdy box that kept it safe. Thanks!

Perfect Dark is easily one of the best and most memerable Nintendo 64 games. In the shooter category, many would consider it second only to 007: Goldeneye. The gameplay is smooth and fluid, with excellent graphics. The single player experience is fun and involving, innovative and just plain cool weapons steal the show here. Althought that is not to say the missions and objectives aren't great, but the game does lose a little bit of pace due to slight repetition. The environments also significantly add to the experience, especially since the expansion pak is required. The expansion pak, which increases the 64's maximum RAM, allows higher resolution graphics and creates great environments. Some early on scenery is plain, but overall this game certainly pushes the Nintendo 64 to its limits. The biggest gripe about the single player are the frustratingly unintelligent computer opponents (AI). Many times the AI can be seen doing absolutely ridiculous things, which dampens the experience. Finally, and possibly the most important aspect of this game, the multiplayer. The multiplayer in Perfect Dark is so superb, it still rivals some of today's best multiplayer games such as Halo and Call of Duty. Again, the innovative and awesome weapons come together with great maps and lots of match customization to create an experience you will always remember. Allowing up to four players, the matches can get quite intense. Especially since adding computer controlled "bots" are always an option - great if you don't have four players and still want a more competitive match. Overall, Perfect Dark is an amazing and unforgettable experience. I strongly reccommend it, as it has something to offer for nearly everyone.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Do I even need to review this game? The game pretty much reviewed itself. The title of the game says it all. Perfect Dark. I have nothing bad to say. First off, the single player campaign is awesome. The cut scenes are great, the story is great, the action is great, sometimes you sneak around and other times you blast your way through. The combat simulator is awesome too. You get to make a profile and customize what your character looks like. You also get to choose from many maps, game types and what weapons are on the map. There are tons of weapons to choose from. I guess my only problem with the game is the remote mines. Even when the CPU simulants are on the hardest difficulty, they won't blow up the remote mines they throw. Oh well. The simulator also keeps track of a lot of stats, like kills, deaths, accuracy, wins, etc. Also, you get to rank up as you play more games, kill more people and win games. I'm not sure what the formula is for ranking up, but it happens. You can also go to a shooting range and some crazy simulator. By performing tasks in each, you can unlock new stuff for the combat simulator. There is a ton of stuff to unlock and just the shooting range can keep you busy for hours. This was an awesome game back when it was released and it's an awesome game to play today. It still ranks up in my top 5 shooters of all time. What's my other 4? Maybe I'll do that review at some point.Vollständige Rezension lesen
