Good refurbished product, but unfortunately has a AT&T factory image on it - the unremovable bloatware is taking up 70% of available system memory, so looking for an alternative image and/or rootkit now. But the phone itself is good quality - unscratched screen with no apparent dead spots in the digitizer pickup, and no tooling marks on the internals as you sometimes get with referb products.

+ low price + very fast system (memory large enough) — chinese preinstalled apps — google play doesn't work (perhaps due to the chinese restrictions) — absolutely necessary to root + after having rooted the system the device is perfect :-)

Bought this for my husband who moaned constantly about his old phone - now a happy bunny & finds it very easy to negotiate. Has set up his email so no need to switch on his laptop.

Probably the best Samsung phone ever made, in my opinion. It's fast, fairly small, has an SD card slot, and most importantly it has a replaceable battery. There seem to be huge stocks still available in China, so you can now buy one for less than £100. Even better, official Samsung accessories such as the flip case can be bought for a small fraction of the original cost. Downsides: 1) it's three generations old, so if that matters to you buy an S7. 2) Unless you root it, the latest Android version you'll get is 5 (Lollipop). 6 (Marshmallow) would be nice as it integrates SD card storage seamlessly with the onboard storage, but Samsung are unlikely to push it out. I've bought several of these for people who wanted a reasonably priced smartphone, and have received nothing but thanks and reports of envious comments from people with later models. Serves my purposes at far less cost than a new phone. I wanted (and got) - an effective, occasional-use phone and SMS, MP3 player, clear easily-read screen, ability to run certain specific apps and reasonable battery life (which phone manufacturers seem unable to deliver). Got all of these and more.
