They are available for VERY cheap (mine was only $25) and more or less easy to find, depending on your standards (used or new, like new or acceptable, comes with games/wires or without, etc). The one I bought didn't come with games, wires, or controllers, bought those can all be bought separately and very cheaply. For overall game selection, many games have been made for this console, most are cheap nowadays, but some rarer titles can get pricey, but for some titles it's worth it. I personally bought this console so that I could play the Legend of Zelda gamecube games I had sitting in my collection, waiting to be used. I do have a wii, however, the sound system where I keep that wii blew out, and it's the family console anyway, so it's nice to have my own personal console to play my own personal games in my private space. The GameCube, in my opinion, is an absolute perfect masterpiece. It's lightweight, so I can always just walk over to my friend's house while carrying it with me to play MarioKart or something with no hassle. The gamecube is also great for multiplayer games, seeing as that is what it was really designed for, but is still fun to play as a single player. It's very easy to use, and it's obvious what plugs in to where, and really only 2 wires are necessary for it to function - an AC adapter (so it actually has power) and some sort of AV cables (so it actually displays on your TV). Comparing to graphics in 2014, the GameCube is lacking, but games from 2002 still look great, and it can even handle graphics more so on the realistic side like the graphics in Twilight Princess, which are just stunning. Overall, the GameCube is a great classic console and if you want to buy one - I say go for it! Heck, I bought mine out of pure impulse if I'm being 100% honest, and I don't regret it whatsoever!Vollständige Rezension lesen

Purchased this unit to replace our original system that finally stopped working after many years of service. My kids still like to play some of the older games, mostly the Mario games. Purchased another replacement prior to getting this particular one, but it had the same issue as our original unit. So far, fingers crossed, this unit is playing perfectly.

My brother & I bought our Gamecubes at the Target Store where he worked for a few years in 2001. I can still vividly remember waiting in a big line outside the store. These Gamecube consoles are still very popular among gamers of all ages. It has a massive, wide variety of games to choose from. The Gamecube controller, in my opinion, is the best ever made. Even Sony & Microsoft came up with a similar design. Nintendo invented the analog joystick, first seen on a N64 controller by the way. The game discs are very small in size, about as small as a pringles potatoe chip! One of the best things about the GC, is they last a good. long time. Sadly, my brother & I sold our Gamecubes at a garage sale. I just had to have another Gamecube, so I bought a silver console with 3 games included, great deal! You can't go wrong with these Gamecubes.Vollständige Rezension lesen

The Nintendo Gamecube may not appeal to all audience of the gaming community. The library of games does not include a large amount of FPS or RTS games. The console itself was marketed towards a 'party' audience, most games were 2-4 player targeted games with minimal story to offer a quick to pick up and play experience to entertain friends and guests that may or may not fully understand video game mediums. Their is a small library of more sought after games, such as Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, and Super Smash Bros. As for online capability, the GCN falls short, only a hand-full of games ever made it online: and only very few offered LAN capabilities: both requiring an expensive adapter. The menus of the console are limited, but this allows for an extremely simple user friendly experience: a simple memory/time adjust/play/set sound are the only real menu options. Single player games are available, and range from platformer to adventure: but again, are highly sought after thus causing an expensive raise in price. A large variety of games can be bought for under 10$ (in 2014), which allows for a cheap gaming experience with the console only running between 15-55$ depending on condition/bundled items. Overall the console is a simple compact gaming unit, designed for either single or 4 player targeted audiences to provide a cheap alternative to FPS and RTS games.Vollständige Rezension lesen
