I was originally loaned this book by my local mobile library driver (I live in the Highlands) who insisted I read it. I'd visited Rosslyn some years ago, but with untutored eyes, so I was fascinated to learn of the research into the symbolism inherent in the fabric of the chapel and the discovery that it was an astronomical observatory. Having been aware of some of the history of Christianity but not having researched it, I was most interested to read about the way in which it developed in the early years, and in particular the similarity with aspects of Mithraism. Yes there is some speculation at work here, but this is to be expected in the absence of written records, and it doesn't detract from what is a wide ranging account. Difficult to follow in places but definitely worth it, which is why I bought my own copy and also sent one to friends.Vollständige Rezension lesen
