The radio is a good buy for someone who wants a second or third unit for short range occasional use. It appears to have very good receive sensitivity in spite of the short 'rubber ducky' antenna, and the received audio is very good. It's not a truly 'waterproof' radio, but with a JIS4 (IPX4) rating it is intended to survive an occasional light rain or splash. Don't expect to be able to submerge it or have it survive being hit with a wave. The battery life has exceeded my expectation, and you can easily swap batteries for either rechargeable NiMH or regular AAA cells rather than having to purchase a proprietary battery pack. The only thing I don't like is the belt clip, but I just won't use it. For the price I believe it's an excellent value.

As a necessary safety tool for marine use it would be hard to beat this product. Cobra is well known (legendary) in the radio industry. I used a Cobra 148 for years as an Interstate driver. A hand held radio and a handheld GPS were recommended to me by a boater safety instructor as a ditch bag necessity. She said that she had very personal experience in such matters. I have owned 2 liveaboard boats, One a 1946 Monk Sedan Cruiser 40 ft. Which I used on the Columbia River for 2 years. Then I lived for 2 years on Lake Ponchartrain In New Orleans on a 41 foot 1987 Catalina Classic center cockpit sailboat. Both time I used a handheld radio in concert with the onboard radios. I found them to be a very useful adjunct to my emergency communications equipment. I purchased this for use on my 21 foot pontoon boat for use on the local lakes near my home on Lake Letta in Avon Park Florida.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Fantastic small lightweight little radio. I wish they didn’t discontinue this model. For a 3 watt radio I think it reaches further that the bigger 6 watt radios and has a louder speaker. Great unit. I will buy everyone I can find.

The Cobra MR HH125 Marine Radio is a superb value at it's price point, and offers reliable service in Mid-Atlantic coastal waters and offshore on my 17' semi-V bottom fishing boat. The NOAA Radio is easily accessible with the push of a button, and is extremely dependable. Compact, easy to use, and reliable!
