The Sega Dreamcast, what I think is one of the most under rated console in history. At the time of its release it was evolutionary with online capability which was a first for gamers across the globe, however it wasnt the first for gaming multi player at long distances. The Sega Saturn the pre assor of the Sega Dreamcast had Net Link capability which was really just a phone call via two Saturns which sent data over the phone line for two player matches. But again the Sega Dreamcast was a big hit for a few years until people saw what the PS2 could deviler, much like the release of the PS3 with BlueRay the PS2 came with a DVD player making the Dreamcast lack in technology due to its premature release, Not only was the PS2 slightly better but it was also the cheapest DVD player on the market meaning it was a much suited family gadget rather than a gaming system, this makes me beleive that the Sega Dreamcast was better, the fact it was a gamers Dream, made for hardcore gamers of the time! A great console that broke records and set the future in modern gaming! turely amazing. Just to add you can still get online today with Dreamcast and play phantasy star online visit www.dreamcast-talk.com for help !Vollständige Rezension lesen
The Dreamcast is an amazing console. I owned a Japanese one and a UK on back in the day. Sadly it was Sega's last machine, but what a machine! It looked good, was the first to have features we now take for granted. Games wise it had a great selection, but not much 3rd party support. They all went to PS2 *sigh* Anyway pick up a bargain and one of the best consoles ever made.

Released towards the end of Sega's console manufacturing period the Dreamcast was the successor to the Saturn and was designed as a huge step up, featuring full 3D graphics, 128 bit processing, internet connectivity and stereo surround sound the Dreamcast was revolutionary and way ahead of its time. As advanced as it was the console sadly did not sell in huge numbers and was discontinued soon after its release. The Dreamcast was the last console Sega would produce but did set the precedent of the consoles of today. If your looking for something slightly retro but advanced enough to still be challenging than this is the console for you. Bare in mind that this console will fetch more than older generations as it is not that old and is fairly rare but still worth a look if your interested.
The reason I purchased a Dreamcast is because I had one in my early teens and had thoroughly enjoyed at the time. It has brought back plenty of good memories for not just me but my whole family as well. To review it against the consoles of today would be unfair for this piece of gaming history as the hardware and the technology is quite outdated but anyone who had one will know what to expect. To sell it for someone who never had one I would say that there are some absolute classic games like shenmue, ready to rumble boxing and sonic adventure (with the vmu's and choa's) that are shining examples of great games that are cheap and cheerful now and will bring hours of fun. I would avoid some of the football games though!
Rated The Very Best of SEGA the Dreamcast was the final Console Released and had a very short life span unfortunately But with games such as Sonic Adventure (Series), Capcom Vs (Series), Power Stone (Series), Soul Calibur, Shenmue (Series) and lots lots more this was and still is an Iconic console and for most the best console to date ever conceived if your a SEGA fan or just a game enthusiast and have never played a SEGA Product or a Dreamcast Before then this is a treat for you
