I've always wanted one of these babies. A launch-model PlayStation (for Europe, at least). Pros are good audio quality and graphics are how they should be. Nothing is broken or missing. However most of the cons are caused by the console working as it should, to say the least. Outer shell is a bit faded and yellowed, but that doesn't bother me. Early consoles were designed with a poorly-designed lens reader (which is proven when game disks that this console can't read, such as "Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus" disk 1 work fine on my SCPH-9002), but I had this in mind when I placed my order, which was on my birthday, funnily enough. I figured I'd put some birthday money to good use, and it didn't disappoint.

I decided to buy an old PS1 instead of the latest playstation or Xbox, as i wanted to 're-discover' my love of playing fantasy role playing games that i had as a teenager. The console and games may seem old fashioned to some and obviously the graphics are not as good as the newer ones, but the PS1 is easy to play and was completely 'awesome' when it first came out. I have just bought my favourite ever game to play on it as well, Final Fantasy 7, which is still one of the best RPG's ever imho. Happy Gaming!!
