Simple design, electronic focus, no switches. Optics allow real sharpness, with a near silent af motor. Body is a light aluminium casing over plastics, this makes it low cost but also able to take a knock. Af is good, bokeh is pleasing, I've enjoyed this model of lens a lot.

I absolutely love this lens, it’s small and light but has an amazing depth of field. The price of it is better than any other lenses I’ve owned. This 50mm 1.8 lens is better than Canon it Nikon.

Amazingly good value lens on the sony A6000, huge upgrade of the kit lens. Highly recommedn if your looking for sharp images and want to blur the background
