I use this turntable for DJ and music listening purposes. Let me tell you that we did play several times with AT-LPUSB1240 and Technics SL12100Mk2 side by side (one turntable being Technics and the other Audio-Technica). We can reassure you that we noticed no difference between those two turntables in terms of feel and quality. Audio-Technica is as perfect for DJing as Technics is. Now AT turntable has one issue, which is HUM. It is quite evidently displayed in couple videos in Youtube. This issue is easily resolved though. It was clear to me from the start the the hum comes from the transformer. So what every owner needs to do is release the transformer from the screws and let it hand on some very soft material on the bottom of the turntable. In this case the transformer is not fixed to the top of the turntable housing and does not transfer the hum. It is an easy and reversible upgrade so I strongly recommend proceeding with it. Other than that it is a very solid and professional level turntable.
