    Not a book about history of the bass guitar!

    I purchased a ebook copy of this Getty Lee book expecting to learn something about the history of the bass. However this book is about the approximately 260 bass guitars he has collected over the last few years and has very little history in it other than that applied to his examples. A big disappointment! Getty Lee May be a well known bass player and a prodigious collector, but a writer of history - he is not. There are many interesting stories in this book, and if your goal is just to read some fun facts and see examples of his collection of bass guitars in beautiful pictures, then you might enjoy this book.

    It is what the title saids, big great book of basses.

    Geddy Lee is one of the best bass players ever. Him and the late but great Chris Squire from Yes. Big Rush fan. Geddy has a awesome bass collection. I lot of history (stories) behind those basses. A great read.

    Must Have for Musicians or Music Fans

    Wow!!!! I really did not know what to expect with this book - but it is an awesome book full of the highest quality pictures and information on the world's best bass players and best bass guitars. If you are a musician or fan this coffee table book HAS TO BE ON YOUR LIST.

    A must for bass and guitar enthusiasts!

    Awesome photography and insight into basses from Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Epiphone, Hagstrom, Hofner, and more, from the 50's through the 70's. Geddy's personal collection is photographed in awesome style with side-by-side comparisons, detail on changes made over the years and great interviews with some of the most notable bass players of the rock era. Highly recommend!
