NEAT AND VERSATILE AND DOES EVERYTHING NEEDED
This is a great little camera that does everything and slips into your pocket. Having less pixels than most modern cameras has the advantage that it takes less space when storing or sending photos. The quality is still good. It takes movies and wide-angle and close-ups and is very easy to use. The matte screen is a huge plus It is smart and neat and everything is easy to find. It uses standard batteries so won't have trouble finding replacements. It has a wrist strap for security. Highly recommend. A highly-rated camera when new, the L12 is still a capable performer, and offers excellent value for money in 2012. The pixel count is lower than today's cameras, but really anything above 6 mega-pixels is just icing on the cake. And bear in mind, the sensor is only one part of the camera; Nikon is famous for lens quality, and constructing a good camera well. Overall picture quality is better than that delivered by some modern no-name cameras with much higher pixel counts. The feature list is pretty short, but that makes it all the easier to use as a point-and-shoot; and it does have all the features most users will ever need. It's height and width are close to today's compacts, but it is noticeably deeper - jacket pocket rather than shirt pocket size. On the plus side, this allows ... Recommended as a second camera, to use on those occasions when you don't want to take risks with your new 16 mega-pixel extravagance, or as a first camera for those new to the delights of digital photography.

Cost Effective Digital Camera
Whilst now obsolete, this camera still has some nice features. The ability to use standard AA cells as well as rechargeable items can be useful. It also comes with a useful miniature stand/docking station.
