A Life Saver for those drowning in despair...
This book is a powerful resource for those suffering the "fall-out" of infidelity. The author gives a courageous account of her family's struggle to heal/survive as well as her personal battle dealing with her husband's affair. Anne Bercht, as well as her husband and daughter, share their pain and experience to provide a life line to those who feel like there is no hope or future after the "adultery bomb" explodes. Don't let the title of the book fool you...Anne takes her reader through her painful and messy journey to reach the revelation of how to have a better marriage after the affair (the affair did not make it better but the lesson learned from it did). This text is not for the faint hearted and although written from a Christian perspective, it is not sugar-coated. This book is a ... Read this before thinking divorce
This book and a Bible should be mandated to be given to all couples on their wedding day. In total sadness, I report a real life story that would not have happened had both of us read this book after the affair and before the divorce. Yes, he had an affair, or affairs, both physically and emotionally, no matter what he says. Now you have a choice that has to be made. You can see the affair as a red flag that says that something is wrong in the marriage and some serious work needs to be done by both spouses, or, choose the total destruction of many relationships that are outside the marriage much like a tsunami causes total destruction thousands of miles from the initial event. Yes, it is very possible that a divorce will happen after months or years of crying, counseling and pain but ... This book and a Bible should be mandated to be given to all couples on their wedding day. If a woman seeks advice from her friends especially those friends in the feminist fringe, they will say that the husband needs to be punished at any and all costs and this advise will usually cause more pain and destruction for the wife than the affair ever did. When he suffers, so will she, as they are too intertwined from the 20, 30 or more years together. So what losses will happen that the lawyers and angry single women will not tell you about? All retirement funds and plans are lost forever as well as a comfortable home, good friends, respect of the kids for both their parents, enriching events like weddings, births, reunions, holidays, health insurance, life and dental insurance, your mental and physical health and finally, the loss of someone to grow old with. So what is the upside to a scorched earth and punishing divorce? The divorce and then the bankruptcy lawyers get more ill-gotten money in their pockets that was honestly earned by the combatants that they represent and then counsel to keep their rages and anger high. In fact, a good divorce lawyer will force the wife to get a temporary restraining order that prevents the combatants from talking, emailing or being civil, which, by the way, prevents a remorseful husband from attempting to make amends for his indefensible behaviors. Lawyers, like Satan, hate happy marriages and fixable marriages. The divorce industry is the most evil, self-serving cancer that man ever made. Satan must be pleased with this heartless group. If you think different, ask any divorce lawyer for proof that they counseled even one client, in writing, to get help for their marriage rather than a divorce. So, the choice is clear to see the affair(s) as a sickness of the marriage or enter the tunnel of no return that creates nothing positive and is populated with organisms who feed off the misery of a marriage that needs help, not destruction, unless there is violence, which is, perhaps, the only reason for a divorce if there are no children under 18.
