A really lovely train set making an ideal gift for someone at xmas. It is definitely good value and the train and wagons are nice and very festive! The box packaging is also very nicely designed making it nice and suitable for as a gift - however, the one problem I have with this train set is that the running locomotive (steam train in the set) has bushes which will only last around 150 hours - and these bushes are non-replaceable giving the locomotive a finite product lifespan!

A lovely little starter set for my 9-year-old son, who has been hankering after not just a model train set, but one that involves the Christmas theme too, so, perfect! It's made from high quality materials and comes well packaged and ready to roll. Track is tight to fit together at first, but I've been reliably informed that this slackens off over time, which is neither an issue or a problem, just a fact. It got me wishing I'd got into model trains as a kid myself...wait a minute...I still can!

A light on the front of the train engine would be a nice addition - also the instructions state that the motor will last approx 150 hours before the non-replaceable bushes wear out. Therefore, this is probably not an investment you could pass on to future generations. Other than that - a nice addition to our xmas tree
