Superb finish on my chisels. Does not slip on workbench and easy to use. I use it with a honing guide and the results are great.

I have bought two of these blocks and built a framework so as they fit loosely over two angled upright steel rods. In the center of these two rods I have built an upright piece of wood with a homemade clamp that grips the knife to be sharpened. When it is set up and a knife in the clamp you turn the diamond blocks so as you have the same grade on each side facing the knife to be sharpened then stroke the blade of the knife first with the left block then with the right block for a dozen strokes. Then turn the face of each block to the next finer face and repeat finally finishing with the finest face and you will find you can shave with the finished blade. If you sharpen your kitchen knives this way tell your other half as she is bound to cut herself being used to blunt knives and suddenly finding them razor sharp. I Have used one constantly for over 5 years, perfect for sharpening Kitchen knives and chisels. So I have just bought two more for Xmas presents. On my own one I have glued Non slip rubber mat to the base so it holds very firm on shiny surfaces.

Got this for my wife to sharpen her woodturning tools. It worked perfectly. It has a great non slip base which holds the block securely I may or may not have used it to sharpen my axes it may or may not have done a great job too I admit nothing. Because wifey will kill me

This is a very good diamond sharpening tool. It is large enough to use your normal sharpening methods. Could possibly have had a finer grit, but it is excellent.
