This book was described as “good” condition. The spine is cracked, the pages are yellowed and the cover is torn. In addition, it took four days to get the book to the post office, while shipping only took two. The actual packaging was well done I just felt the delay was excessive especially for a $5 shipping fee whereas other books I’ve purchased recently are shipped timely and for free.

Hi! Sorry we missed the cracked spine, we always except returns and will give a full refund especially if we missed something. The delay was because of Juneteenth, all post offices were closed. We processed the label the night before and when we went to the post office the next morning it was closed. Completely out of our control.

    Great book

    Every woman should read this book, even young girls should read it. I bought this book for a gift but was a little disappointed when I got it because whoever had owned it before had written in it. I'm still giving it away but not as a Christmas gift. This book teaches girls and women how to protect themselves and what signals to look for. It teaches to trust ourselves in our instincts. I highly recommend this book and also Gaven De Becker's other books including "protecting the gift" about protecting our children.

    Amazing book. Reads like a novel.

    This book is amazing. I have worked in the security field for years and have knowledge of many things, but this book examines incidents and prediction of them in a concise and straight- forward style. Very informative. Should be required reading for women of all ages or people working in the security area.

    trust your gut! it is better to offend an innocent person rather than fall victim to an evil perpetrator.

    I first read this book over 20years ago. It was excellent then. I reread it every few years. Now I am purchasing copies to give away. the content is even more relevant today than it was 20 years ago.

    some great takeaways here. you'll be surprised how well this reinforces things you may not realize that you already know. an easily digestible set of ways to protect you and yours. and some bull crap in the appendice about trigger locks.

    Words flow easily

    I haven't finished reading (the reason for 3 stars). So far I like it. The beginning held my attention, didn't want to put it down. Reading different authors helps to keep the sparks flying in the brain as we use/arrange words differently and that in turn helps in having a better understanding of others and their voices.
