Product Information

The Guitar Hero series makes its PC and Mac debut with Legends of Rock, the first game developed outside of Harmonix. Fans of the finger-fiddling franchise will rock out to over 70 tracks, many of which use master recordings from the original artists. The core play mechanics are nearly identical to previous iterations, with players using their choice of a keyboard or a guitar-shaped controller to quickly match colored notes as they cascade down the screen. By keeping up with the song, hitting the right chords at the right time, and strumming to the beat, players will rack up points and advance to more challenging tunes.<br><br>Once again players can embark on a career, earning money to unlock new characters, guitars, songs, and other surprises while competing in an assortment of colorful venues. For the first time, players will test their technique against real-life guitar gods. Rock stars Slash, Tom Morello, and others will confront players at various points, where the object is to drain their "rock meter" by outperforming them at their own songs. Online support is also included for head-to-head battles. Completing tricky "star power" riffs earns players random power-ups to use against rivals at any time.<br><br>Player-sabotaging power-ups include doubling the number of onscreen notes, switching control to left-handed play, and more. Non-competitive types will appreciate the career co-op mode, allowing two guitarists to work together through each song list. Among the featured tracks are "Paint It Black," "Cherub Rock," "Slow Ride," "Barracuda," "Rock and Roll All Nite," and "Sabotage." The bundled version of Guitar Hero III contains a wired guitar controller patterned after the Gibson X-plorer. The game also supports downloadable content via Internet, from additional songs to picture packs and themes.

    Even though I received a defective Item I still received it in less then a week and the seller responded in with 24 hours of me asking for a refund. They seemed extremelysorry for the mixup and sent a refund and even told me to keep the merchandise and see if I could fix or throw it away. Not many people give a refund and tell you just to keep the product. Yes I did send pictures of it not working as per a request but that's not a problem considering that I wasn't trying to be mean or deceitful

    Guitar Hereo III For PC Review

    Love this game. My daughter has it, so when I'd go to visit her, I'd play it. Well, since it came out for PC, thought I'd give it a try. I heard it had high system requirements, so I went ahead and upgraded my system before it arrived. I went with a Biostar motherboard and Intel E2200 processor, 4gig DDR2 ram, 2-160gig Seagate hardrives in Raid0, and a Radeon X1800xt 512 video card. Well, needless to say, the game played perfectly on the upgraded system. You only get a few songs in quickplay mode, but in online mode, you get lot's of songs. Online play was much easier than I thought, once I found where my license was (back of booklet). Guitar battles were plentiful in online play and I didn't take a beating as bad as I thought I would.     was a little tricy to get it runing but wasen't that hard to fix

    was a bit tricky to get it runing, had to dig a round in diffrent forums befor i found out that there is a patch for GH to make it running properly, but after installing the patch the game just started as it should

    Decent at best

    The gameplay unless you mod the game is very jumpy. I have a very high end MacBook Pro and the fps are still down and very random. There are programs out there so you can take out the animations and the backgrounds which makes the game almost playable, but only to a point. It is a great concept. I like the idea of a guitar hero you can take anywhere with you. But they didn't write the programming correctly to run on Mac as smoothly as they should have. It was just a way to get a little extra cash along with the release of GH3 for PC.

    Great game!

    This is a great game! I'm 30 now, so I don't have much time for gaming and time wasting, but this is a truly cool game! I find myself playing until my fingers start to hurt badly! This game works your time-spacial skills, putting an effort on your hand and eyes coordination. There is a great psicomotor component in the play, this is not a brain-controlling game that will leave your son brain-less. Give it a shot! Ah! And the songs are great too! This game TRULY rocks!

    Excellent Guitar Hero Game

    Now with a wireless guitar you can play your rock music freely. Great game, contains lots of classic songs that will keep you moving. Graphics enhanced a bit. Levels got harder. And in some levels when you play encore you have to compete with the computer instead of just playing the song alone. Makes the game more exciting. Includes an option for online which adds in the fun. I highly recommend this game at a reasonable price. Get it for this holiday season.
