Lovin' It!
As an editor, I find it hard to read many books. This one I just couldn't put down. The stories are well written, creative, not too long (which helps the reading to younger audiences) and NOT SCARY. Mostly, however, I love the moral that each story leaves with us. When you think of stories talking about cannibals, other oddities and rejection, it is a natural concern to wonder if these stories are truly suitable for children. Today's society has gone out of it's way to destroy the imagination of our children. Now, instead of reading, they game on wifi in their rooms. The stories they ARE allowed to be exposed to have been literarily changed and watered down. Cinderella, Snow White, Hansel & Gretel, even Little Red Riding Hood and her Big Bad Wolf seem to becomes friends in the ... As an editor, I find it hard to read many books. The problem with that is that children do not have developed spacial thinking. Everything is pretty much black and white to them. Their decision making processes are based on true BASICS. Right and Wrong. Yes and No. Their Cerebral Cortex (the front part of the brain located in the forehead area) doesn't even finish developing until well into your 20s. So, stories with dramatic content showing extremes in behaviors is mandatory to assist them in recognizing choosing good over evil. It's really a very basic concept, but often misunderstood. Bottom line, this is an EXCELLENT book for children and I highly recommend it. BTW: Adults will love it, too!

Engaging, thought-provoking: The Peculiars.
I've read the whole series of books before this one came, so I had to have it. My son and grandson are both also great fans of this author and this sequence of novels. They are engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining for children of all ages, 70 to 45 to 15.

Had a problem and they fixed it
Order was cancelled because the book was out of stock. No message from them. I realized it almost two weeks after I ordered. I messaged them and they went the book free of charge. A little late for my daughter's birthday, I just had to tell her "it's coming".
