Set in a strange, colorful land populated by fairy tale characters, SHREK is a hilarious comedy that will win over audiences of children and adults alike. Joined by the talkative Donkey (Eddie Murphy), Shrek makes his way to Farquaad's realm of Duloc, where the Lord promises makes Shrek and offer: He will rid Shrek's land of the unwanted visitors if Shrek will go on a simple quest to free Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from her remote, dragon-guarded castle and convince her to marry Farquaad. On their quest, Shrek and Donkey run into a number of bizarre situations, and Shrek finds himself realizing that he isn't quite the fearsome monster he has always made himself out to be. Reinventing the traditional fairy tale adventure, SHREK features gorgeous computer animation, a unique sense of humor, and compelling characters--especially Eddie Murphy's lovable Donkey.

The first in a series of 3 movies, this is the best!!!!
I think nearly everyone of us have seen Shrek. But for those who haven't yet seen it and have somehow seen the 2nd or 3rd without seeing the 1st, you should definitely watch this fisrt installment in the series! I have to say that I love this part the best, probably because I like the songs better, or my favorite song from the Shrek series is in the first part. There is romance, and since it's how Shrek and Fiona fall in love with each other, I really love the story. But like all movies, it could be way better and longer, but still, it's really, really great. And I do believe that the lesson about love in the story is great, and very, very, VERY touching!! So, watch it if you haven't seen it yet!I think nearly everyone of us have seen Shrek. The movie has a brilliant story line, following the path of an initially moody ogre as he discovers friendship and love all in the face of hysterical comedy.

Grandson loves Shrek, so when the VHS player ate the tape he was sad. Now he can watch it again everytime he is at our house

Shrek is one of my favorite animated movies
Shrek is fun for adults and children alike...although it may be a little too slow moving for some of the really young ones.
