The book I ordered was said to be in 'very good' condition, but I would consider what I received to be closer to 'acceptable'. The dust jacket is very creased, scratched, and ripped in the corners, and the physical book beneath the dust jacket is bent on all of the sides/corners. If I saw this in a used book store in person, I would not pick it up, especially for the price I paid. Shipping was faster than I anticipated and the book is readable, but I would be wary to buy from this seller again.

    Stories by Remen Awaken a Deeper MEANING in Life

    I bought "Kitchen Table Wisdom" by Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D. because I had already read "My Grandfather's Blessings" AND her stories speak to my heart. Her reflections trigger my own insight; each of us have stories...hers inspire me to share what I have learned. In the introduction she writes about a time long ago when people sat around kitchen tables and told their stories. We don't do that so much anymore, but it is the way our wisdom gets passed along, helping each of us live a life worth remembering. Despite the awesome powers of technology, many of us still do not live very well. We laugh, we cry, we work, we play, we love, we live. And then we die. Death is our universal heritage.     Bought as a gift

    Bought it as a gift for a friend battling breast cancer. It shipped promptly to her address, and was in as good condition as promised. I haven't gotten much feedback from her yet, but from what I've read of it so far I would strongly recommend this book to any teenager or adult who can read. It's highly insightful on the topics of life, how we relate to one another, how we heal, how we help each other heal, the power of stories, the power of knowing our own stories, and how our stories weave us together. It's beyond easy to relate to and easy to read.

    A book worth reading

    This book is good though I have not found it quite as compelling as her book My Grandfather's Blessing. I found that book more interesting. Though Kitchen Table Wisdom has still been worth reading.

    its a little confusing

    i find it hard to follow got board fast i tried several times got to page 84 it may be good for people with skills above me. i gave up on it moved onto the last lecture by randy pausch, and make your bed by william mcraven sorry
