Tale of a double edged sword
I first played a very early release of this game a good while ago. I liked it, thinking if it grew, it might be a very, real, deal. Yet, as it was not at the top of my list I waited, and found a very good deal, on the first trilogy. I felt really impressed with the effort, except for a couple of things. It had true masterpiece written into it, except for two things: First the 'save occasionally' format carried forward from the original proved somewhat frustrating, necessitating too much replay, to reach these arbitrary save points. Quick save would have been better in my opinion. This was the more minor point. The other, and much more obvious one, is that the interface would not lock POV, instead making pre-rolled, camera views seem inconsistent, ' jumpy', and unnecessarily ... After trying PP SOT, I went to the next, thinking this might have been ironed out, but found instead, that it might have actually been purposeful. POV was apparently designed, not to lock. It would have been better, much better, if at least the first person camera would have. It did not, and the player is found having to re-calibrate, on-the-fly, with new directions of movement via WASD. Some might have found this a really great part of a masterpiece of storytelling, but for me it was a game which had advanced nicely in every other way, but never became quite ready for prime time, in 3D. Nothing quite like having to run toward something designed to kill you, while having to fight against a game's interface as well! This coupled with the inflexible, pre-determined, save, made this a no-brainer for this player. Nice try. Pass. Unfortunate. In every other area, it was really on its way. Still playable if you wish, and have plenty of time, remaining staunchly determined to win, for its own sake. Unfortunately, in the end, I found it simply, much less fun to play. My opinion. One rewrite away from ten of ten, but instead comes in at around a six. However, a most compelling effort, in every other aspect. Still worth a look, if you don't mind obfuscation by design.

Good to replay the classics
All these games are great to replay again especially since I grew up on them and played them as they were evolving. That being said the port to pc wasn't the greatest. Most of my time spent setting up the game just so it didn't play as broken as it did. As soon as you boot up the game you see nothing but fog, luckily many people have found a way to fix this through the programing. The controller setup was a huge pain too especially when your trying to sync the lt and rt buttons that the setup doesn't recognize. There's occasional crashes and I either have to reinstall the game or just restarting it. On top of that you need the disc to recognize on start up just so they know you legally have the game which is a pain if you have a laptop with no disc reader meaning I have to break out my USB ... All these games are great to replay again especially since I grew up on them and played them as they were evolving. That being said the port to pc wasn't the greatest. Good old school
It's pleasant to travel in time again. The games are old but the graphics is really good for it's time. The landscapes and details are very well designed. Very interesting plot in all three of them. Besides The Sands of Time and The Two Thrones are in the top 100 best games ever. The controls are a bit difficult for PC and the camera some times gets on the nerves but it does not spoil the games to the point when you want to stop playing. In fact you always want to find out what is expecting you around next corner even though you know the game because you have played it already. For those who like refined oriental tales these set is strongly recommended.It's pleasant to travel in time again. The games are old but the graphics is really good for it's time. Good Value for your money
Three very good action games but the camera angles in the first two were, at times, not very good but I suppose this was the case for most video games of that era. There was no choice for a difficulty level in the first game (Sands of Time)and it was very tough. The second game (Warrior Within)had a choice of 3 difficulty levels but even at easy it was hard and it was way too complex without a detailed map, what was still needed, and where to get it. Gr8 graphics , the difficulty level is really high on this game.
The graphics in this game are AWESOME! ( Sands of Time) The only real draw back to this game is it is WAY TOO HARD TO PLAY. Unfortunately I am really drawn to this game and I play it every once in a while to try to get past the part I am stuck on. Yes I'm really frustrated with this game but I still plan on playing it. I wish you could change the difficulty level to make it easier to play.
