Days of Future Passed paved the Way
Summer of 1967 was a very historical year. It was considered the "the Summer of Love" and was the peek point for the physcodelic era. The Beatles were on top of the world setting trends and impacting the musical world with the landmark album Sargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, which would eventually win Grammy award for Best Album of the Year. If Sargent Pepper hadn't made such an influence upon the musical world of Rock music, this Album DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED by the Moody Blues would have filled the void left by Sargent Pepper. Coming to America with the third wave of the Great British Rock Invasion of the 1960's: the Moody Blues set out to accomplish a mission, and with the classic album Days of Future Passed they did that. With help from the London Sympathy Festival Orchestra,the Moody Blues blended into their musical sound rock music and a core of an orchestra blending the amazing combination of the two. With the additions of a new musical instrument such as the mellotron with its magical stringing sound effects, and the combinations of flutes, tympathical and additional vocal sounds, the Moody Blues created an album of which the likes have never been matched since and will forever stand the tests of time. An exceptionally rare, timeless recording that is almost 50 years of age.
There are very few timeless albums. Days of Future Passed is one of those exceptionally rare albums. It is hard for me to believe The Moody Blues released this outstanding LP in November of 1967, which is almost 48 years ago. Nights in White Satin is still played frequently on Classic Rock stations in America and Great Britain. DOFP preceded Pink Floyd's timeless classic, Dark Side of the Moon, by 5 years. Even by 2015 recording standards, The Moody Blues, sound crisp, clear, rich on LP's and remastered CD's. I believe, anyone listening to this album, regardless of medium, will certainly enjoy it whether they're being introduced to it for the very first time or have listened to it a thousand times.There are very few timeless albums. Too good for the common ear !
Was epic in 1969 ! Compared to what is produced today,it is light years ahead..SERIOUS orchestral support 2nd to none !!! You listen to this alblum in the dark in a very quiet setting and you will be AMAZED.....

always have loved this album
It's the original (no bonus material). Not a remaster with extra stuff I don't want and 7.1 speaker placement mixing, so I can't hear everything on just 2 speakers!

Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed
I bought this album because I love "Nights in White Satin" and I love symphonic prog. It seemed like a natural addition to my music collection. This album is definately a milestone in that particular genre of music; it is just as much classical as it is rock. The album was intended to illustrate the differant times of day and the feelings associated with each, and its safe to say that the Moody Blues accomplished their goal.I bought this album because I love "Nights in White Satin" and I love symphonic prog. It seemed like a natural addition to my music collection. This album is definately a milestone in that particular genre of music; it is just as much classical as it is rock. The album was intended to illustrate the differant times of day and the feelings associated with each, and its safe to say that the Moody Blues accomplished their goal.
