I'll keep this short, I loved the first Saints Row and I've always been a fan of Volition's games. What I like about Saints Row 2 more than Saints Row: 1. You can design and sculpt your own character extensively. You could easily recreate yourself in game. The first game had that too, but this time you can also be female. 2. There are a ton of activities. 3. The map is huge. It's basically the same island layout as the first game, but a lot of the streets have changed for the better. What I don't like about Saints Row 2 that was better in the first Saints Row. 1. The camera behind the car is tilted back too much. I end up crashing a lot more because of it. The first game had a perfect camera behind cars. 2. The graphics feel a bit desaturated. Colors and graphics aren't as crisp as they were in the first game. There's more motion blur. Worst of all, the fire looks more like fire colored smoke. The fire and explosions in the first game were breathtakingly beautiful. 3. You have to go to every activity, store, and other locations on the map before you know what they are. I spent a couple real days just going around everywhere figuring out where everything was. The first game wasn't so annoying in that regard. Overall, while I'm sad to see the bright crisp graphics of the first Saints Row replaced with motion blurs and washed out colors and the screwing up of the car camera angle and fire effects, Saints Row 2 is still a great game. If they hadn't messed with those things, it would be near perfect. I'm still impatient though and end up using the money cheat a lot. It's near impossible to buy a decent wardrobe in the game and also purchase the cribs if you don't cheat. I guess I should also mention that I don't like the menu as much as in the first game. But, the controls are still as good as ever and you can use the face buttons, triggers, or left thumb stick to accelerate, so it's easy to drive no matter what you prefer.Vollständige Rezension lesen
It's a fun game. Just as entertaining as Grand Theft Auto 4, with none of the annoying phone calls from your cousin. I only give it 4 stars because the difficulty levels of missions vary wildly. They can change from tutorial-level easy to ball-bustingly difficult. As an example, I played 3 missions back to back to back in the same storyline (I'm already 4-5 missions into this storyline at this point): the first mission was a 2 minute cutscene, then I need to get a 4-star wanted level (not too difficult,) then the last mission, I have to use a jet-ski to get to a yacht, while dodging 1-hit kill missiles from a helicopter! And once I was finished on the Yacht, I had to do it again in a speedboat!
Saints Row 2 is a step up from its first installment with a bit more customization options. Whether customizing your hideouts, your gang members outfits and vehicles they drive, even your own appearance from clothing to hair styles, SR2 has allot to offer. There are many missions to accomplish as well as side activities to do to make money in order to purchase vehicles, properties, clothing. There are a few small glitchy elements and some missions tend to get a bit ridiculous as at times you get surrounded by other gangs all wielding automatics and rocket launchers. But it does not take too much away from the game. Saints Row 2 is certainly worth playing.
When i first got this game i was slightly upset, because after playing the first one it seemed like they just used the same exact city and just put new missions on it. I was wrong, after exploring the city for an hour or so i found out how much different the game is, completely different set-up for houses and homebases and some new interesting stuff.. The controls are the same as the previous, which is hard to get used to again after playing gta iv, but ive gotten back to figuring it out easily. overall its not the greatest game, but has alot of new fun missions which will entertain for hours.
Saints Row 2 is quite actually a very good game. I never was interested in the series, having never played the first, until a friend of mine asked me to try it out, as to play co-op together. Now I'm hooked. Its another open world gang violence game, like that of Rockstar's infamous Grand Theft Auto. However in many ways, it's much better than GTA. First off it does have 100% co-op campaign, no mission is undo-able. This is the main reason that I was attracted to it. It has a long list of vehicles. Land, sea and air. It has a wide array of vehicle customization, which is something that I personally do like. There are many clothing options to choose from, along with a in depth character customization. Ranging from both sex and race, and all the way down to the minuet details of your face. There are a few gripes I have, however nothing big. I don't like that there is no place to purchase planes or helicopters. There is a location to buy boats, bikes and cars, but no place for a plane. It's not a big gripe, but when many of the planes are few and far between, and when you do find them they typically are in a lovely shade of bright green, it'd be a little easier. The only other gripe would be that even though they do price a lot of the items up to compensate for the mass amount of money you'll have, you wont have to buy much. Food is nice but I find myself never using it, there are ways to get infinite ammo for most/all of the weapons that you'll need so the cost of ammo becomes obsolete, and you wont have to buy cars or bikes because most of them are easily found on the ground. Money is hard to come by early, but once you start the missions, you'll be rolling in it.Vollständige Rezension lesen
