If your planning on buying this lens or indeed any Mirror lens, you have to be aware of their limitations. Once your aware of what they can and can't do they are very usable. Used with a steady tripod and fast shutter speeds, along with very precise focusing adjustments the image quality will be acceptable. With a bit of post processing to recover lack of contrast and sharpness I have had very successful results in good light.

It is an excellent lens, takes sharp pictures, focusses well and has as bright an image in the viewfinder as you could expect.

I have both this model and the Canon 500mm mirror lens, and image quality of the Tamron is right up there with the much more expensive Canon. Avoid the cheaper brands, they just can't deliver any kind of sharpness.

An excellent product and performed way above expectations. very impressed.Having great fun using it and exploring it's potential.
This is a very well made lens, a nice metal lens hood protects the 82mm front element, it reminds me of the good old tough lenses pre-digital era. When it comes to focussing it takes a lot of practise to get a pin-sharp image, yes I would say it is capable of producing a very sharp photo when used with a tripod mounted camera and live-view to be sure of focussing accuracy. I don't find the fixed aperture a problem when shooting with such a long lens it seems to be just about right although you have to be careful of any out of focus highlights which can seem unsightly. Digital software can be a huge help with this issue, it also fixes any low contrast problems that can occur sometimes. To sum up it's a very affordable telephoto lens, works well with full frame and cropped digital SLR's, the alternatives being a teleconverter or very expensive Canon L lens or Nikon lens both costing about £1000.Vollständige Rezension lesen
